This is an exciting time to join the Guildford and Waverley Frailty Academy Programme We are looking to recruit a project manager to be responsible for delivery of key specific projects as part of a wider frailty workforce development, training and education programme. This post is offered as a twelve month fixed term contract The Guildford and Waverley Frailty Academy was set up in 2021 by consultant geriatricians who recognised the need for everyone working with and/or caring for older people (whether paid or voluntary) to be trained in identifying frailty and helping people who have frailty to age well. We know that people living in Surrey can expect to enjoy a long life expectancy the average life expectancy is nearly 82 years for men and 85 years for women. In Guildford and Waverley there are more than 30,000 residents over the age of 65 years so it is more important than ever that we support people to age well by identifying frailty and managing frailty effectively. The Frailty Academy has developed a range of successful training opportunities aligned to the NHS Frailty Core Capabilities Framework. The Academy has now secured funding from the United Surrey Talent Fund to deliver an expanded programme of work across the Guildford and Waverley Alliance, including workforce development projects as well as training and education activities. The post holder will manage the planning, development, implementation and assurance of specific projects as part of this wider programme for frailty across the Guildford and Waverley Alliance. They will support the Chair of the Academy and the Frailty Academy Programme Manager in developing and delivering Tiers 1-3 of training aligned to the Frailty Core Capabilities Framework published through Health Education England. This is viewed as a key enabler to help develop the system strategy and application of the Ageing Well programme and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams as described within the Long Term Plan The Frailty Academy Project Manager will be part of a dynamic team working alongside Educational Fellows in several sectors including Adult Social Care, the Voluntary Sector and Allied Health Professionals. Main duties of the job Project planning and delivery relating to frailty education and training with links to workforce development. Effective management of key Frailty Academy projects, including project planning, risk, reporting and assurance arrangements. Working with the Academy Programme Manager and Chair of the Academy to design, deliver and manage the governance structures and PMO processes underpinning delivery of the projects within the overall programme. The SSCA Pathway Manager will deliver transformational change and quality improvements, to improve the quality and experience for cancer patients across Surrey and Sussex. This role will involve complex negotiation and influence with senior service directors, clinicians and managers at both an operational and strategic level across the eight Trusts in the Alliance geography. The job holder will have the ability to think, act and respond quickly to changing circumstances whilst maintaining a clear view of overall priorities. The ability to work at a senior level in a cross-cutting multi-organisational setting, identifying joint aims and objectives; facilitating organisational and culture change and the delivery of outcomes is vital to the success of these roles. The job holder will be based in SSCA offices in Guildford but will be expected to travel to trusts or meetings within the Surrey and Sussex geography and potentially other referring regions, as agreed with the Programme Managers and Clinical Leads.

The Transformation & Digital PSO is a member of the Transformation & Digital Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Team, that sits within the Transformation & Digital Directorate. The PMO Team supports both the Digital and Transformation portfolios of work for FY24/25, with a significant number of programmes and projects for delivery, in a number of phases and key priority areas. The primary purpose and key objectives of the PSO role are to support the overarching governance and assurance process required to assure that the Digital and Transformation programmes and projects are/remain on-track to deliver in-year, aligned to the delivery metrics agreed (collating and maintaining data in a universal form), and also providing hands-on support to Programme and Project Managers with delivery of specific tasks, activities and/or small/discreet aspects of live programmes and projects. Working closely with the Trust Finance Income and Costing Departments the post holder will be the Information Teams leading expert regarding the creation and submission of CDS datasets; income datasets to be loaded into Civica SLAM; and the creation of activity datasets for SLR/PLICS and costing. Additionally, the post holder will be the primary lead on contract and costing activity analytics, i.e. the departments primary contact for supporting the contracting and income, and costing teams in finance. The post holder will play a key role in developing, maintaining and evolving numerous Service Level Agreement Monitoring (SLAM) reports required by the Contracts and Income Team, and supporting the Costing Team providing data to satisfy the Costing Standards. The role encompasses working with Information, IT, and Finance teams as well as clinical groups in the development and preparation of complex requirements specifications. This will require skills in analytics, interpretation and resolution of highly complex problems covering a wide range of clinical and business areas including those at a national level. The post holder will be responsible for loading data into the Civica SLAM database on a bi weekly basis as well as for regular submissions of CDS SUS data and supporting the costing team with provision of monthly SLR/PLICS data.
