The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C, the Sizewell C Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. We are seeking experienced Project Managers to lead and drive the delivery of essential engineering workstreams by the Responsible Designer (RD) and oversee the engineering, procurement, and manufacturing of critical contracts.
As Project Manager you will work closely with especially the SZC supply chain team, the Responsible Designer (RD), the Sizewell C quality team and the suppliers to prepare for and execute the delivery phase of the project. Our Project Managers will focus on one of the following areas:
MEH: primarily the development and setup of the MEH delivery model and alliance for SZC. A joint team has been established and they will continue to develop and detail the MEH delivery model and alliance, and work in accordance with lessons learned from the HPC programme.
Nuclear Island (NI): each project manager will be dedicated to a group of system(s), building(s) & contracts within the NI programme with a value of up to £100m.
Civil Works: the Project Manager role will support the development of the strategy for delivering scope up to the value of £50m to cost, schedule and quality. This post also has the responsibility to ensure delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities in accordance with the overall Project schedule.
CI/BOP: to oversee all activities associated with the delivery of engineering contracts up to the value of £100m and securing resources which meet business and technical requirements, ensuring they’re delivered safely, on time and within budget.

The Role
You'll oversee the nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components (SSCs) with a focus on maximizing replication from HPC and preparing for key contract awards. You'll be responsible for timely delivery of engineering studies, either by the RD or contractors, ensuring they meet Sizewell C project needs.
Working with the contract Project Manager, you'll support the team and supply chain to ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, and design changes. You'll manage internal and external interfaces to coordinate design and delivery, engaging stakeholders early to address risks, and handle procurement for specific contracts.
You'll also ensure lessons learned are captured, help develop strategies with the Project Manager, define work scope, and ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery of contracts or work packages. This includes preparing manufacturing and construction contracts and driving site-specific design changes for Sizewell C.
The Skills
Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems, or civil engineering for large industrial plants.
Strong understanding of major project complexities, including managing interfaces between different scope areas.
Excellent communication skills with both clients and contractors.
Experience coordinating engineers, consultants, and advisors on large, complex projects.
Proven success in managing and developing:
- Engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies.
- Multi-discipline EPCM projects.
- Procurement and management of complex contracts.
- Cost, risk, schedule control, and change management, with proficiency in Earned Value tools.
- Resolution and negotiation of commercial claims.
Desirable:
Experience in the nuclear industry.Direct experience of procuring equipment or installation contracts for nuclear power stations.
