We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to support the work of the Social Services, Children’s Team based at Blaina ICC. This exciting opportunity within Business Support Service working from Blaina ICC, supporting the numerous projects, including;
• Flying Start
• Families First
• Child Care Offer
• Early Years
The successful candidate will manage a small team, supporting them to deliver professional, high-quality support to the projects and manage the day to day work of the team, providing supervision and performance management.
The role requires excellent communication skills with the post holder often engaging with internal partners, outside agencies, members of the public and Elected Members. A keen eye for detail, accuracy and good organisational skills are also key to the role.

An exciting opportunity has presented itself within the Business Support Service for an enthusiastic and confident individual who will rise to the challenges this fast paced service presents.
Principal accountabilities for this role include:
• Providing advice, support and daily supervision to other Business Support Officers within the team.
• To carry out performance reviews and monthly supervision for Business Support Officers to assess performance and provide direction where issues arise.
• Assisting the Senior Business Support Officer with the allocation of work to the other business support staff within the team.
• To undertake the administration of the Open Options system as a Super User.
• To assist with the administration of applications / referrals to the Flying Start, Early Years, Child Care Offer and Families First Programmes.
• To assist in the preparation of information to professionals and families e.g. leaflets, promotional events.
• To work with Programme Co-ordinators and provide quality administrative support
• To assist in maintaining computerised databases for attendance figures and performance information used to produce statistical analysis.
• To providing main reception cover within Blaina ICC when requested.
• Ordering via the E Purchasing system, including management of an authority credit card.
• Updating spreadsheets and databases via data entry.
• Data entry into the Social Services database (WCCIS).
• General administration, mail, scanning, typing, photocopying, etc.
• Assisting within the wider Business Support service providing general administrative support within Adult and Childrens Services.
• To attend meetings and take detailed notes.
Experience of working in a business support environment and dealing with a wide variety of requests and issues together with a rounded knowledge of Council services will be of great advantage in this role.
