Job Details

• Providing appropriate guarding security services to the business, including assistance, guidance, monitoring and advice on the physical security environment and fire and life safety systems
  
• Maintaining working knowledge of all fire and security related policies and procedures, including CCTV Code of Practice
  
• Providing customer focused Reception services, including issue of appropriate levels of access, ensuring visitor comfort and secure store of luggage
  
• Acting as the primary building incident controller when needed, taking active leadership responsibility for control of the incident team and liaison with the emergency services and Senior Management Team as necessary
  
• Maintaining vigilance of colleague car parking (including surrounding residential areas), actively managing resolution of issues or escalating where required and regularly patrolling and maintaining oversight of the loading bay and external areas of the building
  
• Patrolling the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, monitoring the building infrastructure failures and ensuring the building always remains secure
  

Skills we would love you to have

• Experience in a similar role, with a working knowledge of fire, security, risk and compliance, financial and health and safety policies, procedures and legislation
  
• Experience of operating physical security, fire and life safety systems
  
• Effective communication skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure - able to direct colleagues of all levels in an authoritative and friendly way to effectively control during an emergency

HMPPS (HM Prison and Probation Service) is the MOJ (Ministry of Justice) agency that carries out sentences given by the courts, rehabilitating people in their care through education and employment.

Hays are the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support staff. In this role, you will be working for HMPPS as a Prison Security Escort at HMP Holme House.



Your new role
You will be responsible for:

• Documentation of Contractors' tools and equipment
• Escorting Contractors to their area of work ensuring all security gates/doors and locked accordingly
• Ensuring the safe keeping of the contractors and their tools and equipment whilst work is being carried out
• Escorting Contractors back to the main gate of the prison ensuring all security gates/doors are locked accordingly
• Documentation of Contractors contractor's tools and equipment upon leaving the establishment to ensure nothing has been misplaced.

You will be flexibly deployed to provide a range of other support service activities within operational areas of an establishment when required. This is an operational support job with no line management responsibilities.

You do not require any previous experience or qualifications for this role. You just need to be security conscious, able to challenge potential compromises of risk, and be reliable. Please note this role does not require you to drive.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Fire & Security Technician to lead our technical help desk. Develop in collaboration with the Consultant Midwife and specialist midwives the most appropriate care pathways identifying where and when it is for the most appropriate for public health input to be deployed to have the most effective and efficient impact. Focus upon improving outcomes of women with modifiable risk factors such as smoking, obesity and breastfeeding, and develop and implement processes to secure a year-on-year increase in uptake of immunisation. Support the service coordinators to write and revise maternity guidelines pertaining to public health agendas Support Infant Feeding Coordinator in embedding the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative Standards within the service and preparation for UNICEF BFI Accreditation Support Smoking Cessation Coordinator in continued development and delivery of a stop smoking in pregnancy service, directly to pregnant mothers, to support them to successfully quit smoking during and after pregnancy and monitor outcomes as required to achieve interventions as part of SBLCBv3 Element 1 Lead conversations with women and families to be around weight management during pregnancy and refer to the appropriate service Revise and refresh the immunisation strategy and communicate with NHSE validated data as part of monthly return The post holder will be required to plan for and be responsible for the implementation of training in relation to Maternity Public Health Issues. Work collaboratively and in partnership with other health care professionals, offering appropriate leadership, guidance and supervision to colleagues Assist with delivering quality improvements Take responsibility for Key Performance Indicators and report writing to demonstrate compliance with a variety of care quality indicators around the public health agenda

Experience and Qualifications
You may already have experience as a Door Supervisor or Security Officer within Retail, Hospitality or Leisure which is great! All we are looking for is…
