As the Senior Legal Counsel, you will bring your legal expertise to a multifaceted role where your skills as a legal generalist will be highly valued. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will handle a broad array of legal responsibilities, including drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on regulatory compliance, and managing disputes. This role requires a balance of independent initiative and collaborative engagement in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will provide crucial legal counsel across the organisation, ensuring legal risks are effectively managed and aligning legal advice with strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive legal advice on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
Draft, negotiate, and manage various contracts and legal documentation.
Lead litigation and dispute resolution efforts, supporting robust risk management practices.
Advise on regulatory developments and compliance needs across the company's global operations.
Collaborate with internal departments to support corporate strategies and key business initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will possess a deep understanding of commercial law, regulatory compliance, or litigation with 8-10 years of post-qualification experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelors of Law from an accredited law school.
Licenced to practice law in Victoria.
8-10 years of experience in commercial, regulatory, or litigation law.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
