We are looking for a Law Reporter to contribute to PA’s first-class written coverage of the Royal Courts of Justice and the
Supreme Court.

About the role.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team in one of the most high-profile and demanding specialisms at the national

What you will be doing.

* You will produce accurate, fast, impartial and clearly written copy in line with the PA news agency’s core standards
* You will be confident making written and verbal legal arguments while challenging reporting restrictions
* You will be responsible for digging out off-beat stories from the many hearings and written judgments handed down at the courts
* Work as part of a team with fellow general reporters and our specialist correspondents when stories cross into the higher
courts
* Plan coverage to ensure customers, whether local or national, know what cases of significance are coming up



What you’ll need.

* Extensive experience of reporting to agency/daily newspaper level
* A strong understanding of media law
* Minimum 100wpm shorthand
* To be able to work under pressure
* An NCTJ or equivalent qualification
* Experience of covering UK court cases is essential. High Court, appeal court and Supreme Court level experience is desirable.

Fire and Security Installation Engineer required to work on the installation, servicing and fault finding of Fire Detection, Intruder Alarm, CCTV, Access Control and Emergency Lighting Systems.

Experience
Installing, servicing, fault finding and repairing Fire and Security devices.
Domestic Electrical and Networking appliances to British servicing, maintenance and commissioning Standards.

Role
Commissioning and servicing Intruder Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Fire Alarm and Security Systems.
Site survey to design drawings for quotes, installation documents and ongoing servicing.

Fire and Security Project Manager required to manage UK fire safety and building security projects including risk assessments, audits, contractor delivered works and follow up actions including repairs and maintenance services. You will work in an open and transparent way, creating strong partnerships with our customers and providing first class customer service.


Skills

Experience working in a housing or contracting business facilities delivery role.
Contractor management experience delivering services on time within budget.
Ideally qualified to FPA level 3, FPA level 4 or similar.
Fire regulation knowledge including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, legislation and current and good practice.
Understanding of relevant British Standards relating to servicing, maintenance and commissioning.
This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence


Responsibilities

Monitor and manage fire safety and security projects ensuring they are properly resourced and operating within appropriate financial policies, procedures and budgets.
Manage contractors.
Maintain appropriate documentation for work specifications and tenders providing accurate and timely information for senior management.
Manage coordination, communication and maintenance of relationships with internal and external customers.
Report to senior management updating forecasts and managing expectations.
