Plans, coordinates, and/or conducts all aircrew and flight inspectio.....
- Plans, coordinates, and/or conducts all aircrew and flight inspection technician familiarization training for assigned military personnel in accordance with FAA approved courses of study and the Aircrew Training Program (ATP).
- Continually monitors the maintenance program, looking for trends, which could adversely affect the operational mission of facilities worldwide by causing extended down time or create a safety hazard to the military and civilian flying public.
- Performs airborne flight inspection of ground based National Airspace System (NAS) navigational aids (NAVAIDS) using airborne electronic flight inspection equipment and specialized test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
- Performs comprehensive Air Traffic Service (ATS) equipment quality assurance inspections at Army airfields and facilities worldwide.
- Monitors the operational status of navigational aids, landing, lighting, and communications systems throughout the Army and establishes and maintains comprehensive flight inspection report data for all Army owned systems.
- Coordinates initial and follow-on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) training from inception through to certification as a flight inspection technician.
