The role
As a Civil and Structural Design Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you will support projects across the site, from new nuclear qualified design to through life maintenance of waterfront and building infrastructure.
Day to day, you'll provide technical advice and develop new analysis and design solutions.
Responsibilities as Civil and Structural Design Engineer will include:
- Providing technical advice.
- Developing new analysis and design solutions.
- Undertaking surveys and inspections of structural assets.
- Preparing technical scopes and specifications.
- Overseeing fabrication and construction.
- Providing intelligent customer role in support of subcontracts.
This role is full time - 36 hours and will be based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard 2 days per week with 3 days hybrid working from home arrangements.
Essential experience of the Civil and Structural Design Engineer:
- You need to possess good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with others, including internal stakeholders and customers.
- A sound understanding of engineering design both theoretical and practical.
- A willingness to adapt and learn.
Qualifications for the Civil and Structural Design Engineer:
- You'll be either educated to degree level in Civil, Structural or related engineering discipline, or hold a level 4/5 STEM qualification (HNC/HND) with substantial relevant experience.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
