The role
As a Senior Security Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This pivotal role entails providing high-level security support for a key MoD Contract within the Mission Systems business. You'll be responsible for ensuring the seamless and comprehensive delivery of all Contract-related security matters, guaranteeing the ongoing safe and secure operation of our business.
This position is crucial within the realm of security for mission systems and the wider Babcock group, offering substantial responsibility and involvement in an innovative team.
Day to day you will:

Ensuring that all security requirements are met by the Contract and are compliant with Babcock Policy and other internal requirements as well as all external contractual obligations, legal requirements, and policy frameworks. This will require a sound knowledge and broad experience of managing Physical Security, Personnel Security, IT Security, IA Risk Management practices across a complex and agile business.

Leading on the collaboration of effective security plans and providing timely input to the Customer led Security Working Group.

Overseeing the development of Movement Plans and Risk Assessments around deployable assets both UK and overseas.

Providing support and ensuring compliance to Prime Contract obligations in accordance with Delegated Authority approval and Security process requirements.

Working collaboratively with the project teams to provide timely advice and accurate interpretations of security conditions associated with Contracting Authority security requirements. In addition, to support Commercial and Supply Chain activities ensuring such security conditions are properly flowed down and accurately implemented.

Fostering and promoting a key liaison role at all levels within the Contract and acting as the focal point lead for all security matters for the Authority.

Responsibility for regulating, monitoring, and reporting on the secure operating processes of all protective security systems.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with 1 or 2 days in the office each week at our Ashton Vale site.
Essential experience of the Senior Security Manager

A thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the Cabinet Office Security framework GOV S007as well as JSP 440 and other relevant and associated publications.

Strong experience leading and developing a team of skilled security professionals.

Good knowledge of security risk management practices and the identification, implementation and monitoring of current risk mitigation techniques and processes.

Experience of producing accurate security risk assessments and being able to recommend proportionate mitigations and solutions to risk and vulnerabilities.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC clearance level for this role.
