RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage requests for and provide advice and guidance to HR and people leaders on policies, practices, and employment matters, such as terminations, investigations, disability accommodations, performance management and RIFs/reorganizations, to achieve business objectives and effectively assess and manage risk

• Draft, review and/or revise employment-related documents, such as corrective action, performance, and termination documentation, separation and other agreements, HR policies, etc.

• Case management for employment-related lawsuits, charges, and claims, including coordinating with in-house and outside counsel, conducting initial fact gathering, implementing, maintaining and closing out litigation holds, identifying and gathering responsive documents and information, scheduling and participating in witness interviews, reviewing discovery, pleadings, and other case documentation, and facilitating the initiation and completion of internal processes for settlement/resolution of claims

• Analyze and report on outside spend, budgets, and claims metrics

• Analyze and respond to employment-related third-party subpoenas and other requests for records, including identifying and gathering responsive documents and information

• Conduct or coordinate research on employment law/HR issues (e.g., non-competition agreements, wage and hour questions, leaves/accommodations) and formulate practical, business-oriented recommendations

• Monitor trends in employment law/HR compliance and identify, develop and coordinate opportunities to improve employment-related policies and practices, including policy updates, audits, and training

• Support cross-functional projects as an employment law/compliance resource

• Act as a resource to other functions (HR, Finance, IT, etc.) and business units on legal policies/procedures, as necessary

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Paralegal and/or HR certifications preferred

• Juris Doctorate degree a plus

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·       4+ years of relevant employment law, employee relations and/or HR compliance experience in a law firm environment and/or in-house legal providing advice on employment law issues

·       Experience managing lawsuits, charges, and claims (i.e., litigation holds, document collection and review, discovery, outside counsel management).

·       Experience in employment law/HR compliance matters (i.e., wage and hour practices, leaves and accommodations, background checks, worker classification, performance management) a plus.

·       Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations, including federal and state anti-discrimination laws

·       Knowledgeable of the evolving employment law landscape and legislative activity that impacts the employer-employee working relationship

·       Ability to collaborate with other Legal, HR and business stakeholders regularly. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively in a team environment and quickly establish credibility with internal clients, particularly HR and business and/or functional leadership.

·       Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate appropriately with employees at all levels of the organization, outside counsel, and third parties

·       Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment effectively.

·       Tech savvy with excellent presentation, training and people skills

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

·       Demonstrated ability to resolve escalated issues from HR

·       Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks based upon deadline, significance, and client need; escalates issues when appropriate

·       Excellent business and legal judgment; ability to assess benefits and risks of strategies in litigation and advice/counsel matters

·       Proficient at electronic legal research; able to synthesize findings and formulate recommendations

·       Proficient with matter management and electronic billing; ability to monitor budgets from outside counsel

·       Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills

·       Ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain positive attitude in a fast paced, challenging environment

Key Role:

Function as a System Certification Specialist and Security Control Assessor as part of a team in the performance of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities ensuring National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) management, operation, technical, and privacy security control implementation compliance for large, complex DoD information systems. Provide support for executing full Assessment and Authorization life cycle and risk management functions, measuring risk, examining system documentation, interviewing appropriate system and site personnel, testing system technical security configuration settings, reviewing scan results, Platform IT (PIT), and developing findings reports. Demonstrate subject matter expertise in NIST security guidance and security control assessment (SCA) processes using the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Basic Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience with providing security guidance and IS validation using NIST, RMF, DoD, and local security policies

• Experience with planning and executing comprehensive Cybersecurity test events, including identifying applicable security controls, analyzing assessment procedures, and identification and using required tools, including Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) or Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)

• Experience with providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware and coordinating changes and modifications as an ISSO, ISSM, or Security Control Assessor (SCA)

• Experience in interfacing with information assurance managers, including preparing and reviewing documentation, such as Systems Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms)

• Knowledge of NIST Contingency Planning, POA&M management, and DoD continuous monitoring

• Top Secret clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity

• Cybersecurity IAT-Level III, CISSP or CAP Certification

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with DoD Cybersecurity policies, directives, and DoD STIGs

• Experience with leveraging ACAS, CMRS, and eMASS tools 

• Experience with assessing organizational risks and recommending mitigation strategies

What we're looking for

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent real-world experience.
• Industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), or equivalent certifications or trainings are a plus, but not required.
• 5+ years of experience in application security, with a proven track record of leading security assessments and projects.
• 5+ years in software development or adjacent fields, with expertise in Java or PHP preferred.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of compliance standards such as CMMC, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or GDPR
• In-depth knowledge of security standards such as ISO 270001, NIST CSF (CyberSecurity Framework), and/or NIST 800-171.
• Extensive familiarity with OWASP SAMM v2
• Familiarity with operational technology security concepts and practical experience in this domain.

How you will create an impact

• Lead and conduct comprehensive security assessments of our software applications, identifying vulnerabilities and potential risks in alignment with industry standards like CMMC, PCI, HIPAA, and GDPR
• Mentor and collaborate with development teams, guiding them to integrate security best practices throughout the secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC).
• Utilize your extensive background in software development to identify and address security vulnerabilities effectively.
• Design and implement advanced security controls, authentication mechanisms, and encryption techniques to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Create security requirements to go along with business requirements during the development lifecycle.
• Guide the business in prioritization of security features that are requested by customers and improve protection of our customers and their data.
• Stay informed about the evolving threat landscape, security trends, and compliance requirements to continually enhance our application security posture and guide the team accordingly.
• Lead standardization of security features across application platforms.
• Assist in driving initiatives to reduce technical debt that creates risk.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to interpret and implement security measures in accordance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations.

What You’ll Do

Key Role:

Manage classified government contract programs and oversight of the day-to-day operations of a Special Access Program Facility (SAPF). Provide support in clearance processing, visit certifications, document control, and physical security for controlled areas associated with special access programs. Conduct highly sensitive security briefings. Coordinate all security education programs. Act as a primary liaison with upper management and outside agencies. Interact with internal and external clients or government security officials to perform security duties, address routine personnel security matters with employees regarding issues, report preparation, program security access briefings, and other duties, as required.

Basic Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience as a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) or security specialist administering security programs
• Experience with SCI or SAP programs, JPAS, and eQIP
• Knowledge of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directive (ICD), and DoD and COMSEC security requirements
• Knowledge of the government classified contract process
• TS/SCI clearance
• HS diploma or GED

• Bachelor's degree
• Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
• Special Program Security Certification (SPSC)

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
