This Transportation Security Inspector position is located in Charlotte/Douglas International Airport (CLT), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Transportation Security Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring security compliance of persons and transportation systems and entities regulated under the Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1500 series. You will perform selected assignments and progressively responsible inspection work such as:

• Conducting less complex inspections or portions of more complex inspections.
• Applying basic technical inspection knowledge acquired in formal core training and on-the-job training (OJT), along with any limited experience gained prior to or after such training.
• Conducting regulatory inspections and investigations, and supporting criminal investigations related to alleged or suspected security violations.
• Responding to security incidents, threats, violations, or potential violations.
• Providing overt and covert presence, including high visibility activities, to detect and reduce identified security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Participating in covert and overt test and audits, as well as vulnerability assessments.
• Reviewing and analyzing assessment reports and testing results with specific attention to identifying unusual trends or actions that appear to have the potential for developing a security or safety problem.

• Patrolling facilities and/or restricting individual's access to locations.
• Secure found drugs, weapons, and contraband.
• Perform random spot checks for compliance with key control, supply, property and vehicle security regulations and directives.
• Respond and react appropriately to hostage situations and abductions, which involves exercising situational judgment.
• Verifying authentication of badges, registrations, or property passes of staff and visitors.

Job Description

You will be a member of the Group Information Security Team responsible for responding to threats and incidents to the corporate networks, systems (on-prem and cloud), and digital assets.

Key Responsibilities:

•Perform security monitoring and incident response activities across the scoot networks, leveraging a variety of tools and techniques.

•Manage Security Operations center.

•Detect incidents through proactive “hunting” across security-relevant data sets.

•Ability to correlate multiple events from different devices to identify abnormal behaviour

•Document incident response analysis activities thoroughly

•Develop new, repeatable methods for finding malicious activities

•Provide recommendations to enhance detection and protection capabilities.

•Effectively present technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences

•Develop and follow detailed operational processes and procedures to appropriately analyze, escalate, and assist in the remediation of information security incidents

Requirements:

•Demonstrate experience in Information Security with a focus on Cyber Security Operations, Incident Response and Detection.

•Experience working in the Security Operations Centre and/or Computer Incident Response Team.

•Excellent problem-solving skills combined with hands-on experience doing root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.

•Solid knowledge of computer networks and common protocols

•Knowledge of prominent cyber threat actors and APT groups.

•Experience with Threat Intelligence Platforms.

•Experience with SIEM (especially Splunk).
