About The Role
Job Description
You will work on a varied, rolling rota carrying out effective patrols of on and street parking areas within Cambridge to ensure compliance with parking restrictions.
You will be working 5 days out of 7 from Monday to Sunday, the earliest start time is 07:00 and the latest finish is 22.30, 40 hours per week, on a permanent, full-time basis.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role are to: * Ensure patrols are carried out efficiently and effectively
* Issue penalty charge notices to any vehicle parked against restriction and record verbal warnings issued to motorists
* Report any defects with signs or lines
* Ensure parking equipment is working correctly and report defects promptly
* Ensure enquiries from members of the public are dealt with promptly and politely
* Act as ambassadors for the Council, undertaking any other tasks as directed
To be successful in the role you will need: * Previous customer service experience in a demanding environment such as a hospitality or call centre environment (desirable)
* Previous experience within civil enforcement/ parking or a security environment (desirable)
* The ability to follow instructions and to work within a closely managed operation
* This job requires the ability to ride a bicycle in various weather condition
* The ability to remain calm during conflict and tense situations, and a polite, credible and confident approach when dealing with members of the public
* A willingness to work outside in all weathers and the ability to walk 10 miles per shift
* A flexible approach to working hours
