We are now recruiting an experienced Security Officer at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole. As Security Officer you will patrol, monitor, and observe security procedures to ensure a safe Guest and Member experience at the hotel while investigating theft and managing instances of undesirable behaviour. As this is a large and busy hotel we require an experienced security professional confident in their abilities with a professional manner. An SIA licence and CCTV training is required.

Please note shift work will be required with flexibility around working evenings and weekends.

What will I be doing?

As a Security Officer, you are responsible for monitoring and controlling staff entrances, patrolling on a regular basis, and managing undesirable behaviour to deliver a safe Guest and Member experience. A Security Officer will also be required to investigate theft and support evacuation procedures. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Monitor and control staff entrances
• Conduct regular searches of bags, etc. carried by members of staff and report discrepancies or violations immediately
• Control the Goods pass out procedure for any items purchased, loaned, or otherwise legitimately obtained
• Maintain system that monitors contractors working in the hotel in accordance with company health and safety policies
• Responsible for checking goods received out of hours
• Maintain system that records the issue and receipt of departmental keys
• Operate, check and monitor the CCTV system
• Patrol the hotel on a regular basis ensuring fire walks take place and are recorded
• Ensure safe passage of cash transfers within the hotel
• Support evacuation of the hotel during fire alarm situations
• Monitor suspicious packages and be aware of bomb and terror threat procedures
• Provide secure storage for guest oversized items
• Ensure hotel facilities and function rooms remain secure and locked when not in use

EQUANS is recruiting for 2x Night Security Supervisors to be based in Mithras Hall of Residence, University of Brighton, BN2 4QX This is a permanent part time role working 42 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £31,668 per annum and benefits package.

Shift Pattern:

Rolling shift of 4 nights on and 4 nights off. 1900 - 0700

Overview:

The Security supervisor is responsible for the security team. Providing security integrity for the Mithras Halls student accommodation campus, with 804 residents. Ensuring the team guard, patrol and protect, buildings, in accordance with the assignment instructions.

Essential Requirements:

• You will be required to pass through a range of referencing and vetting checks.
• You must have lived in the UK for at least 5 years with a 5-year work history unless you have been in education.
• A background, qualification, or interest in the delivery of site security and/or customer service will be an advantage.
• Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed.
• Possess a valid SIA License.

In this high-profile security officer role, you will ensure the security and safety of premises and people at a prestigious client site.

An experienced Security Officer, with exceptional customer-focus, you will carry out a range of duties including:

- Managing access control for buildings and car-parks - for employees, visitors and contractors

- Patrolling the buildings, car parks and grounds to deter and detect problems

- Responding to customer requests and queries

- Checking and challenging ID passes with a professional and friendly approach

- De-activating and activating alarms, and unlocking and locking buildings, rooms, external barriers and gates to ensure that no unauthorised personnel or hazards are on site.

- Identifying and reporting Health & Safety issues and carrying out first aid if necessary.

This is a permanent role. Hours of work may vary but shifts are normally 12 hours duration covering days and nights, Monday - Sunday. However, as part of a small team you will need to be reliable and flexible to support your colleagues.

An SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) license is essential, and to succeed in this role you will also need:

- Strong customer service skills and experience

- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills

- Good IT and administration skills

- Five years' checkable history and references

When on mobile patrol maintain regular radio communication with the Security Control Rm. Maintain detailed, accurate and timely records on all incidents and activities using computer based systems. Follow Trust, Directorate and Departmental policies and procedures for booking annual leave, changes to rota and sickness reporting. Attend staff briefings and keep fully updated with matters affecting the Trust, Directorate and Department by regular reference to bulletins, notices, emails, etc. which are displayed on all staff communication notice boards. Assist with the production of ID badges and security/traffic access cards. Assist with the issue of keys to staff.
