Nottingham – working typically within a 70 mile radius
- Full time (Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm)
- Permanent

- On call duty 1 in every 7 weeks

The role
As a Fire Alarms and Security Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and minor project works related to fire alarm systems and security systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong technical background to join a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install, program, configure, test, and commission fire alarms, CCTV systems, access control, intruder alarms, and emergency lighting to meet site-specific needs and regulations
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, diagnose and repair faults, conduct inspections for optimal performance, and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Small Works and Modifications: Undertake system upgrades and enhancements, integrate with minor construction projects, and coordinate with clients and trades
- Client Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, offer technical support, address queries, and conduct training sessions on system operation and maintenance
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensure work complies with industry standards, and stay updated on industry developments and best practices
- Documentation and Reporting: Complete necessary documentation, including service reports and installation certificates, provide detailed work reports, and maintain inventory of tools and spare parts
The Ideal Candidate
We seek a skilled engineer with a strong technical background in fire and security systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
- Education in Electrical or related field preferred; proven experience in installing and maintaining fire alarm and security systems; knowledge of fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficiency with diagnostic tools and technical drawings
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., FIA, BAFE, NSI) are highly desirable; a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, work at heights, and work outside regular hours, including weekends and on-call duties
