Probate Team Leader

We're looking for a legal manager to join our probate operations team.

In this role you'll coach, mentor, and develop your team to deliver quality legal advice, strong case progression and great client service. You won't need to source your own work, or bring a following of clients with you. Family Law Solicitor

The Opportunity

This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.

As a Civil Building Lead for the SZC project, you’ll oversee the preparation and justification phases for building replication based on the HPC design. This involves collecting and preparing input data from both HPC and specific SZC sources, as well as coordinating and reviewing the calculation phase. You’ll conduct reviews and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that project requirements for cost, quality, and timelines are met as defined by the Civil Lead. As the project progresses, you may also manage a small team of civil engineers.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll coordinate complex technical issues and transverse topics across various programs and disciplines, ensuring these activities progress effectively. You’ll assist in preparing technical documentation for procurement alongside the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) and support SZC by facilitating technical discussions during the procurement phase before contracts are signed with the civil designer.

You’ll ensure that all technical issues are addressed within the Nuclear Island Civil works activities and manage the resolution of complex points within your scope. Additionally, you’ll support the CEL in coordinating with the civil designer and stakeholders to produce designs, review deliverables, and ensure they align with the validated schedule.

You’ll identify the need for updates to key documents and produce them in time for the civil designer's input data package. Managing workload and resources effectively, you’ll distribute tasks within your team, evaluate performance, and prepare design change papers for presentation in change committees. You’ll also verify the consistency of input data from previous projects, conduct technical verifications of design documents, and participate in maturity and gate reviews with stakeholders. Finally, you’ll contribute to CDM reviews and maintain the Design Risk Register.


Who you are

You will possess strong technical expertise in civil engineering, particularly in the seismic design of reinforced concrete structures. You should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, making technical decisions with or without support when necessary. You’ll have a solid reporting capability, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Your knowledge of CDM regulations will be essential, and you’ll excel at building collaborative relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. Maintaining high standards of safety and quality will be a priority, supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should also demonstrate strong negotiation abilities and a delivery-focused approach to meet commitments and deadlines. What you’ll be doing
The Civil Building Lead is a product-focused role responsible for the development of specific structures, buildings, or cross-functional areas. As a Civil Building Lead for the Sizewell C (SZC) project, you’ll oversee the preparation and justification phases for building replication based on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) design. This involves collecting and preparing input data from both HPC and specific SZC sources, as well as coordinating and reviewing the calculation phase.
This position involves receiving, analysing, and verifying the consistency of input data, performing technical verifications on design notes, models, and drawings, and overseeing the anchorage designs by equipment suppliers. The role requires close collaboration with site-based engineering teams and subject matter experts to support seamless construction and coordination with civil designers and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of key project components.
In addition, the Civil Building Lead will assess and implement design modifications requested by various engineering teams, contribute to project and contract risk registers, and prepare design change papers for presentation in change committees. You will support internal contract management teams in administering relevant contracts and proactively identify and report risks that could impact project timelines or costs within their scope.

Who you are
You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and possess extensive experience in the field, along with in-depth knowledge of Eurocodes and Health & Safety regulations. Have a solid understanding of EPR engineering processes and project engineering procedures, coupled with a demonstrated ability to set, achieve, and uphold high standards in safety and quality.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with the Discipline Manager to prioritise safety and ensure high-quality design activities across the civil engineering group. This includes adherence to engineering standards, processes, tools, and methods outlined in the engineering manual. Additionally, you will work closely with project operational managers when civil resources are integrated into project teams, ensuring alignment across the civil discipline, fostering collaboration with the other civil groups within the projects.

The role
As a Security Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you will be providing a high level of professional security support to all business functions across Mission Systems

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for the effective delivery of all day-to-day business security related matters ensuring key support functions are delivered in a smart, flexible and holistic manner to ensure the business continues to operate safely and securely.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all security requirements are met by the business and are compliant with Babcock Policy and other internal requirements as well as all external contractual obligations, legal requirements, and policy frameworks.
• Managing all aspects of access control such as verifying clearances and Need to Know, printing passes and running reports.
• Delivering all documentation required to maintain an efficient and compliant FSC area.
• Acting as the key point of contact to both internal and external stakeholders to enable an open and transparent working relationship focused on resolving issues as they arise as well as developing specific plans for change in support of new and existing business streams.
• Responsibility for regulating, monitoring and reporting on the secure operating processes of all electronic security systems.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Security Specialist

• Possess well developed IT skills.
• Previous experience working in an administration role within a regulated industry.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.

• Deliver end to end clearance application processes for personnel.
• First point of contact for all new hire candidates, delivering all aspects of Security onboarding.
• Ensuring that all security requirements are met by the business and are compliant with Babcock Policy and other internal requirements as well as all external contractual obligations, legal requirements and policy frameworks.
• Acting as the key point of contact to both internal and external stakeholders to enable an open and transparent working relationship focused on resolving issues as they arise.
