The role
As a Security Business Partner and Controller, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be providing critical support to the continuous at sea deterrent and the wider Royal Navy Submarine Enterprise.
Day-to-day, you'll be the first point of contact for our Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) business to coordinate and deliver implementation of security policy and assurance, to ensure the Business Unit delivers to all required customer and Babcock security standards.
- Provide leadership, management and oversight of security to support delivery of strategic security objectives, a positive secure awareness culture and the development and management of local security 'champions'.
- Maintain awareness of evolving security threats, regulatory, legal and other factors that may affect the security of our people, assets, information or reputation.
- Provide expert guidance and assurance to the business unit, leadership team and senior risk owners in relation to protective security risk management that ensures an intelligent, proportionate and compliant approach to security across the business.
- Ensure the secure and compliant delivery of contracts to maintain and develop customer and regulator relationships.
- With the support of the Group Protective Security function, ensure site(s) comply with security requirements for List N / Facility Security Clearance (FSC) accredited sites as required.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home. You must be flexible to travel to Leicester, Plymouth and London at least once a month.
Essential experience of the Security Business Partner and Controller:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a security role within a List N / FSC or other regulated environment
- Experience in effectively managing risk
- Strong IT literacy including a strong understanding of maximising the effective utilisation of technology in security provision
- Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels
- Proactive in assessing complex issues and providing solutions
- Full UK driving licence

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
