As a hands-on leader of our data engineering team, you will drive initiatives for our data platform, pipeline, and data warehouse with predictive analytics and machine learning modeling. The ideal candidate should have technical experience gathering business requirements, prioritizing and setting predictive data analytics and data modeling roadmaps, delivering results through machine learning projects and applications to grow member subscriptions in order to provide a better engagement experience, and improving conversion rates and preventing churns.
The data engineering team is a central part of our software engineering department at PPLSI (aka LegalShield). The engineering organization is the cornerstone of all technology and product focused developments for the company. We are a diverse and skillful team encompassing software engineering, product development, data engineering, and quality assurance for the company. Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a data-informed growth strategy and corresponding roadmap in alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices
- Propose innovative data solutions to directly impact our current and future customers; identify new data that we could invest in to bring data solutions to our business; define and execute the plans to acquire, prepare, analyze, and develop value-adding data solutions, in conjunction with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Marketing departments
- Cultivate healthy relationships with internal stakeholders, effectively communicating the value of data engineering initiatives and driving alignment towards common goals
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses; ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our data infrastructure, implementing best practices and standards
- Be the primary champion of data-informed decisions and lead the efforts to increase data usage at the company
- Lead by example and promote professional growth in self and team
Qualifications:
- 10+ years progressively responsible experience with a consistent track record of leveraging analytics to drive significant business impact or to develop data/algorithm-based products
- 5+ years of leadership experience, including leading analytics team members and being accountable for data science delivery of a team, and proven management skills including negotiating, leadership, delegation, planning and organization
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving innovation and delivering business value through data-driven initiatives; demonstrated experience creating data-driven solutions in big data environments
- Expertise in one or more development or advanced analytical tools, such as R, SAS, Python
- Expert level knowledge of advanced analytical model development and construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields- preferred; advanced degree- a plus
