• 5 GCSE's including maths and English or equivalent

Monday - Friday

37 hours per week

Rate of Pay: £11.59 per hour.

This is initially a 12 month assignment however it is highly likely to be extended beyond that initial period. The job is based on a 37 hour week, working Monday to Friday. Location is ideal for public transport.

Newcastle College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Curriculum Leader in Law, Policing and Protective Services (LPPS).

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high quality learning programmes in a range of subjects, including Law, Criminology, Policing and Uniformed Public Services, across a range of levels of further education, higher education and / or apprenticeship provision, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties. In addition, the successful candidate will directly manage a team of LPPS staff, as such, a proven record of managing teams in a fast-paced environment would be advantageous.

This post requires a strong background in the criminal justice system and the candidate must have proven track record of professional / vocational expertise in the wider criminal justice sector.

The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and / or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand. • Flexible approach to work, ability to work under pressure and excellent organisational skills
• CISSP and/or CISM, MSC Cyber Security and previous experience of managing IT Security within an organisation are desirable.
