About the role:

The Application Security Testing Engineer reports to the Senior Manager and assists with the security testing activities for BMO based applications. The role will be responsible for the execution and coordination of Static and Dynamic Application Security Testing (SAST/DAST), provides information security consulting services (SAST/DAST Scanning) for BMO overall and businesses/groups. What will you do:

• Subject Matter Expertise - Provides technical leadership to business areas as a Security Testing subject matter expert. Assists with efforts on the execution of security testing operations to include pre-engagement (scoping), engagement (testing) and post-engagement activities (reporting).
• Secure Testing - Assists in delivery of security testing projects according to a structured process, to include writing test reports. This may include oversight and/or execution of the configuration and deployment of security testing software and application of results to security analysis.
• Information Security Risk Management - Works with leadership to mature security testing team capabilities including reporting and remediation guidance in alignment with local and global regulatory requirements. Identifies security gaps and deficiencies by conducting risk assessments; able to recommend corrective action of identified vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Assists with the execution of planning, testing, tracking, and advises on necessary risk acceptance for identified security risks. 
• Secure Application Development - Assists with the execution of highly technical/analytical security assessments of custom web applications, mid-tier application services, backend mainframe applications and databases, including manual, custom and industry known attack methods using a risk-based intelligence-led methodology. Identifies potential misuse scenarios. Advises on secure development practices.

What you need to succeed:

• Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in testing web applications, APIs, mobile applications to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
• Hands-on experience with dynamic application security (DAST) tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, etc. Hands-on experience with static source code analysis (SAST) tools.
• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C#, JAVA, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python etc.) and can code with little oversight
• Knowledge of different rapid development processes, e.g. Waterfall, Agile, etc.
• Knowledge of coding vulnerabilities, frameworks, patching processes, Information Security risk and industry best practices, defense concepts, risk-based assessment approach
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, and the OWASP Testing Guide or other secure coding frameworks, NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF)
• Understands the principles of secure coding techniques and secure code reviews, code scanning software and vulnerability code scanning processes, network protocols and connectivity.
• Industry certification is an asset - CISSP, CISSLP, CCSK, GIAC etc.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

This position is responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for both private and public sector works projects of more than $100 million to ensure Granite is a responsive bidder.

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors to ensure a high quality and timely estimate. 

• Review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate.

• Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase competitiveness of the bid.

• Review “take-off” quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates.

• Utilize existing cost history as a check to complete estimate.

• Apply mathematical calculations requiring advanced analytical processes to ensure logically estimated costs are accurate.

• Present estimate and participate in bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and private entities to ensure competitiveness.

• Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure understanding of scope of job and critical means and methods of construction.

• Develop and maintain business relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional market. 

• Supervise, direct, and mentor estimating staff to ensure individual development and Granite standards are met.

• Participate in and/or lead design-build preconstruction services, both internally and in joint ventures to ensure a high quality, competitive estimates and schedules.

• Participate in and/or lead means and method discussions, being the catalyst to drive creative thinking and innovative ideas that distinguishes a successful estimate.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience.

Work Experience

• 15+ years estimating experience

• 5+ years management experience required

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling software.

• Advanced knowledge of Estimating software.

• Advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles

• Advanced knowledge of construction principles and equipment capabilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Advanced knowledge of agency (U)DBE requirements

2 years FTC - government organisation - Senior Cyber Security Specialist Your new company This government organisation is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to join their cyber security team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. You will have the opportunity of working for a government organisation located in Southerland. Your new role As a Senior Technical Cyber Security Specialist, you'll be expected to drive the implementation and continual improvement of the cyber security function for the organisation. You'll work closely with stakeholders to ensure that cyber security initiatives meet objectives across their organisation in alignment with their Cyber Security strategy. You'll also be responsible for:

Implementation and maintenance of security controls including the ASD Essential 8
Executing the Cyber Incident response process from a technical perspective
Proactive identification, analysis and remediation of cyber risks
Conducting cyber security related assessments including project/solution reviews
Ongoing development of internal technical cyber security policies and standards

What you'll need to succeed As a Senior Security Specialist, you will be required to possess the following skills and experience:

Extensive IT technical/operational background in a Windows-based environment
Previously worked in a Cyber Security Specialist or similar role
Hands-on experience analysing logs, network data and other attack artefacts
Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions
Proficiency with antivirus, identity management and security software
