Security Installation Engineer

Location: Great Eversden, Cambridge

We're looking for a Security Installation Engineer for one of our clients who takes pride in being the go-to security experts in Cambridge and beyond. With over three decades of experience, they're committed to safeguarding homes and businesses with cutting-edge surveillance solutions.

This role would be suitable for individuals who have a passion for security systems and a desire to contribute to safeguarding homes and businesses. Experienced on electrical installation background, someone who has either installed telecoms systems, routers, electrical appliances, whether in house or at commercial properties.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (required)

Experience: Security System Installation and Support or similar role: 2 years (required)

Work Location: Mobile (On the road)

Pay: £32,000 to £44,000 depending on experience with an appealing shift pattern and long-term career potential!

Person specification

The ideal candidate for this role should be a motivated and capable engineer with diverse experience across different sectors. They should have hands-on experience with various tools. Additionally, they need to be easy-going, hardworking, friendly, and approachable when interacting with others. Independence, adaptability, and a commitment to quality are essential. Trustworthiness and honesty are also crucial due to their position of responsibility and privilege.

Our client will supply a van and all tools required for the job, as well as a phone, PPE & uniform. Although we aim to keep our team operating as close to home as possible, we will require our staff to travel with occasional overnight stays when required by the business. Working hours vary, but are predominantly Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 on site plus commute. We offer a competitive salary based upon your skills and experience.

About The Role
You will work on a varied, rolling rota carrying out effective patrols of on and off-street parking areas within Cambridge to ensure compliance with parking restrictions.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are to:

* Ensure patrols are carried out efficiently and effectively

* Issue penalty charge notices to any vehicle parked against restriction and record verbal warnings issued to motorists

* Report any defects with signs or lines

* Ensure parking equipment is working correctly and report defects promptly

* Ensure enquiries from members of the public are dealt with promptly and politely

* Act as ambassadors for the Council, undertaking any other tasks as directed

To be successful in the role you will need:

* Previous customer service experience in a demanding environment such as a hospitality or call centre environment (desirable)

* Previous experience within civil enforcement/ parking or a security environment (desirable)

* The ability to follow instructions and to work within a closely managed operation

* This job requires the ability to ride a bicycle in various weather condition

* The ability to remain calm during conflict and tense situations, and a polite, credible and confident approach when dealing with members of the public

* A willingness to work outside in all weathers and the ability to walk 10 miles per shift

* A flexible approach to working hours

• Work alongside others to pro-actively forge positive and influential relationships with the Police, CTSA, MOD, NPSA, DE&S and other security agencies as required.

• Analyse the reports of Security activities and produce monthly statistics of crimes and incidents by category or site for submission to Senior Management. Ensure that any pattern of crime is addressed pro-actively as soon as identified.
