Position: ACS R&D Platform Security Architect (Principal Engineer): Are you ready to play a pivotal role in our inclusive Workstation engineering team? We are seeking a talented Security Architect with a minimum of 5 years of experience, specializing in computer platform security and cyber-threats. Your expertise will help us bring cutting-edge technologies, architectures, and high-performance computing systems to market. As the demand for premium compute performance continues to rise, your specialized knowledge will help to deliver the world’s most secure Workstations.
Key Responsibilities: As a vital member of our team, you will:
Design security architecture for HW/FW projects, help teams to pass HP Cybersecurity reviews, and collaborate with teams for their security features/processes/needs; preserve HP as the world’s most secure workstation vendor.
Provide SSDL training and monitoring for the Workstations teams. Level up organization.
Drive adoption of new industry technologies, including: SBOM, VEX, PQC, Security HW acceleration, Device Health Attestation, AI for platform security. Stay up to date with new security technologies.
Influence design of HP technologies, like Sure Start, Device ID, platform certificates, and define adoption by Workstations. Interface with company-wide security architects.
Understand emerging customer security needs, e.g. through visits.
Evolve the Workstations platform security strategy.
Participate in HP Cybersecurity forums. Keep up with industry requirements and inform Workstations.
Participate in industry standards bodies involved in platform security, such as TCG, DMTF, and UEFI, and evolve standards to meet HP’s needs.
Participate in HP-wide security response core team as subject matter expert and help define responses to vulnerabilities.
Education and Experience:
Education: bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, computer security, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related discipline, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity, computer platform security, and/or OS kernel security. 10 years of experience and experience with firmware are preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply them effectively.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with developers, management, and customers.
In-depth knowledge of personal computer architecture.
Strong knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities “below the OS”, and how to protect against them.
Strong ability to research and implement new ideas and innovations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is 137, 000.00 - 198,000.000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
