Here within our North West Support Contract an opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Security Support Officer. The role will support the Performance and Compliance function directly reporting into the Risk & Security Manager.
Key Purpose
This is an important role for the business. Whilst the stakeholder and operational delivery teams are focused on their Customer and Service User responsibilities, there are a number of services essential to supporting them. The reason for the Risk and Security function is to ensure support, advice and guidance is provided to ensure compliance with risk management across all functions including the management and control of security aspects, ensuring the contract delivers in a compliant, efficient and effective manner.
The role will be responsible for assisting with essential supporting activities, as well as undertaking projects as directed that meet both business and wider Serco initiatives and priorities.
Key Accountabilities
Supporting the Risk and Assurance Managers in the first instance within in the contract in all aspects including Information, Personal and Physical security.
- To support the Risk & Security function in developing and maintaining an overall risk management process and security strategy for the contract.
- Provide additional Support to the contract with Business Continuity planning and exercises.
- Report any issues, non-compliance and causes for concern to the relevant departments and record all information using the relevant documents and databases.
Participating in all relevant training to gain experience and capabilities required.
Review and submission of incident reports, conducting Risk Assessments and Critical Incident Investigations where required and advising Operations accordingly.
Support as and when required to compile weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.
Assisting with developing a security aware culture across the AASC North West contract with emphasis on safe lone working practices, pro-active management of anti-social and violent behaviour, CT awareness and incident investigation.
- Be a Security and Information Champion for the function and the contract.
- Assist with monthly Security Working group activities.
- Proactive maintenance and management of the Solo Protect dashboard to drive usage across the contract.
- Complete DPA, FOI and SAR requests in a timely manner following current AASC policies and procedures.
Support the function with the internal investigations process as and when required.
Essential Skills
- This is a multi-function role, so flexibility and adaptability are skills that are essential.
- Knowledge and experience of security and risk within a private or public sector service industry.
- Excellent self-management skills, with demonstrable evidence of confidence when liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to deliver results.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- IT literate – specifically MS Word and MS Excel is essential.
- Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
Essential
This role will cover all the Serco AASC North West, so you must have the willingness and ability to travel within the UK (a valid UK driver`s licence is essential).
Security Clearance at CTC level (Counter Terrorism Check) and CRB clearance required (Serco Civil Government is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office)
