Are you ready to play a crucial role in safeguarding some of the most important assets across Scotland? As a Security Systems Service Engineer at SSE, youll be at the heart of maintaining and securing SSE infrastructure, ensuring the safety and operational continuity of SSE sites. The answer is you—a Network Security Risk Specialist who will break down complex threats into manageable plans of action.  

As a Network Security Risk Specialist on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with DOD clients to discover their cyber risks, understand policies, and develop a mitigation plan. You’ll review technical, environmental, and personnel details from Subject Matter Experts and Engineers to assess the entire threat landscape. Then, you’ll guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, white papers, and milestones. 

You’ll work with your client to translate security concepts, so they can make the best decisions to secure their mission-critical systems. This is your opportunity to act as an information security subject matter expert while broadening your skills in cyber defense and information assurance.

You Have: 

• 8+ years of experience with DoD network engineering and management

• 4+ years of experience in Cybersecurity

• Experience with eMASS, ACAS Security Center, and Nessus Scanner

• Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and NIST framework

• Knowledge of varied Firewall, IDS, and IPS technologies, Endpoint Security products, Security Incident and Event Management, and PKI

• Ability to produce documentation, briefing materials, and network diagrams in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio

• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

• Secret clearance 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or IT

• IAT Level III or IAM Level II DoD 8570 Certification

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience with Ansible, Elastic (ELK) stack, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Firewall, IPS, Panorama, Kafka, virtual machines, and containers

• Ability to complete incident handling processes and analyze data from scans

• Top Secret clearance 

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or IT

Security Officer – Aberdeen Heliport

We are currently seeking part time, permanent security officers to join the Bristow Aberdeen terminal team, to complete the required security services that are critical for both flight and operational safety.

The positions will be approximately 20 hours per week, but can be discussed further during the interview process.

Principle Responsibilities:

• To control access and egress to restricted areas of the heliport.
• To undertake required security searches of passengers and their luggage to ensure that items being carried are compliant to regulatory, Bristow and client requirements. This involves both hand searches, and the use of x ray equipment.
• To undertake regular foot patrols of the terminals and wider areas around the base to ensure there are no security breaches, such as bags left unattended.
• To assist passengers with any security queries.
• To  assist in the event of any emergency situation by performing the duties assigned to the security team.
• To remain vigilant for any safety risks or hazards, and take appropriate action as per department procedures.
• To participate in other terminal/ base tasks as required in support of the operation.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

• X ray experience with valid NXCT desirable, but not essential
• Ground Security Officer (GSO) Level 1, desirable, but not essential

Experience:

Previous experience of working in an aviation/ security operational environment is highly desirable, but full training can be given. However, candidates must have experience in working in a front facing, customer service focussed position, and enjoy this type of role.

Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain friendly, calm and positive under pressure.
• Conscientious and diligent in performing duties consistently and fairly, and in accordance with documented procedures.
• A problem solver, who is motivated to seek possible solutions when faced with an unfamiliar scenario.

Please note this role will require the successful candidates to apply, and be able to be issued with a Disclosure Scotland certificate. The company will pay for this requirement.

The role may require some shift and occasional weekend work. However, for part time positions, set working hours/ patterns are prioritised wherever possible.

Candidates must also be able to lift items up to an individual lift weight of 25lb, being the maximum weight of a single piece of luggage allowed on to our flights.
