Portering and Security Services is part of Estates & Facilities. Portering and Security Supervisors are responsible for the daily allocation of Portering and Security staff on duty.
They should have knowledge of the roles and functions of all wards and departments within the hospital. The Supervisor should have knowledge of and implement Trust Policies and Procedures.
The Supervisor will assist the management team in the maintenance of records, organisation of staff rotas, public holiday and annual leave with the use of IT and other equipment.

Duties will include the close supervision of both Portering & Security staff primarily at the Freeman Hospital ensuring appropriate utilisation and allocation of staff and resources, completion of duty rosters and adherence to departmental and Trust policies/procedures in all areas.
You will be responsible for:
• ensuring that the department provides an efficient and timely service to users at all times
• the training, supervision, monitoring and appraisals of staff in the department
• responding to emergency/security calls
• carrying out porters tasks as and when required
The successful applicant will work on a 12-hour shift basis as part of a 6 man team of Supervisors which will include both dayshift and nightshift (working an average of 37.5hrs weekly). Please note that Bank Holiday and weekend working is included as part of the shift pattern and a flexible attitude to working hours, shifts and occasional overtime is essential.
Applicants will be required to work across the organisation, providing supervisory cover at other Trust sites as per the needs of the business.
