Security Support Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for an established Security Support Manager to join an established function where you’ll have the opportunity to help shape and mould the future of the team.
The Opportunity
The role is part of the Security Engineering department within Enterprise Information Security. EIS is responsible for providing security services to the wider EDF UK group. Engineering is a team of approx. 30 security engineering professionals responsible for securing our cloud environments, data centres, and EDF offices across the country.

What You’ll be doing:
- You will manage a team of security support engineers and focus on developing how our security support services are run. You will be able to directly shape the way in which the team operates and develops.
- Assist in supporting our customers that consume our security services and ensure any issues or Requests or Incidents are being handled accordingly.
- Implement security assurance standards to govern how our services our supported.
- Work with our service delivery teams to develop and implement our security support capabilities and service offerings, we’ll need you to help refine our SLAs that we offer to our customers.
- Establishing new KPIs that we will be using to measure our team’s performance
- Help us transform from an internal security team to an internal security service provider.
- Work closely with colleagues from the wider team to produce an asset lifecycle program to ensure all our security control environment remains fully supported.
- Ensure the team operate an effective monitoring and capacity management capability.
- Working with our wider security community, perform security posture management to validate our security control landscape, and ensure remedial actions are taken appropriately.
- Help shape and then test our security controls and contribute towards improving our overall posture.
- Establish development and training plans for the engineers.
What You Bring:
- Proven background in managing a technical security team in large complex regulated enterprises.
- Good understanding of enterprise security engineering controls
- Previous experience in managing engineers responsible for maintaining technical platforms or direct experience in doing so.
- Previous experience in managing engineers responsible for providing support services or direct experience in doing so.
- Any experience of either next generation firewalls, SASE products and vulnerability management tooling would be beneficial.
- Strong influencing and persuasion skills, building trust-based relationships.
- Clear and concise communication skills with senior leadership.
- Experience in producing reporting & collating KPI data to an executive audience.
- Passion for cybersecurity and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience using ITSM Platforms or Project Management Toolsets
- Stakeholder management, and great customer facing skills.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision and to integrate well within a team.
This role will require the candidate to undergo SC security vetting, therefore you will need to have held a British Citizenship or Nationality for the past 5 years.
