This position is located within the Operational Services Bureau, Hazardous Incident Response Division, Hazardous Devices Section. The Hazardous Devices Section (HDS) provides specialized response capabilities to the Department on a daily basis for events that require heightened protective security measures. In support of the USCP mission, HDS is responsible for ensuring that designated security areas are free of hazardous devices. HDS' primary goal is to provide a safe environment for Members of Congress, staff, and visitors, free from explosive hazardous materials or devices. This mission requires extensive specialized training and equipment; a variety of daily sweeps and inspections throughout the Capitol Complex; and the capability to respond.

HDS Sergeant:

Provides leadership during events requiring heightened protective security measures. Leads a Section and teams of bomb technicians during suspected/confirmed improvised explosives devices (IEDs) and/or weapons of mass destruction. Conducts security surveys and completes plans of action for CODELs and Special Events. Works rotating shifts as assigned by the Division Commander to properly oversee operations and manage day-to-day scheduling and activities. Evaluates intelligence information on trends in IEDs. Performs other duties and projects assigned by the HDS Lieutenant.

Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Plans, schedules, and assigns work to subordinates. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members and provides an effective example of leadership; provides feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance. Provides advice, counsel, and/or instruction to staff members to foster an inclusive team environment. Recommends or approves appointments, selections, or reassignments to positions appropriate to the selection authority delegated. Effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area.

This position is located in the Operational Services Bureau, Special Operations Division (SOD), United States Capitol Police (USCP).  Serves as an Operations Support Assistant at the Division level within a Bureau or an Office. Performs a broad range of technical and administrative office support work and services to support sworn and civilian staff. Provides human resources support services, automation/computer support, records maintenance, report/information consolidation and similar functions.  Performs a range of support operational activities including monitoring and analyzing workflow issues and projects in consultation with supervisors and/or senior officials. Performs other official duties as assigned. Prepares, maintains, and certifies automated Time and Attendance reports and monitors leave balances using the WorkBrain system.  Provides assistance and/or information to officials and officers with overtime requests, leave requests, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) applications, Paid Parental applications, pay certification, payroll corrections, workers' compensation paperwork, requests for advance leave, requests for leave without pay, and similar services as requested. Serves as the organization's liaison for office support services.

Organizes and maintains office files, records, manuals and related materials in accordance with established policies and procedures. Plans and coordinates extensive office support services for specialized or unique program or office needs. Responds to inquiries and requests for assistance on administrative problems. Establishes control records on incoming correspondence and action documents, following up on work in progress to ensure timely action. This position is located in the Financial Systems and Reporting Division (FSD), Office of Financial Management (OFM), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO), in the United States Capitol Police (USCP). Serves as a senior accounting advisor responsible for providing professional advice and guidance to senior management related to the USCPs on financial accounting, reporting, and payment system operations. Oversees and directs subordinate staff in the performance of work that involves designing, implementing, and testing new systems or developing and testing modifications to existing systems or related software programs; developing financial reports; interfacing other reporting tools and payment systems; and plans, directs, and coordinates all aspects of the Division's operations. Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the financial accounting operations; reporting activities of the USCP including the compilation of the USCP annual financial statements and associated coordination with external auditors; processing and auditing vendor payment documents, including employee travel reimbursements; and coordinating problem resolution with vendors.

Provides authoritative interpretations, advice, and guidance to the Director of the OFM and other USCP management officials and directs the staff in preparing formal guidance and advice to agency management concerning USCP financial accounting, reporting, and payment system processes and procedures. Submits recommendations and plans for implementing new or modifying financial systems and resolving system­ related maintenance issues to the Director of OFM. Advises executive­ level management on necessary financial system modifications, enhancements, and policy decisions that involve updating current financial systems with new systems and capabilities. 

Provides technical advice and assistance in implementing necessary changes, configurations, verifications, and validation data. 
Develops system documentation and certification of OFM information systems. Analyzes existing application design, interfaces, and transaction processes and validates data integrity, security, and availability. Ensures appropriate guidance is provided to other USCP entities regarding the reconciliation data maintained in subsidiary systems with data maintained in the accounting system. 

This position is located in the Accounts Payable Division (APD), Office of Financial Management (OFM), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO), in the United States Capitol Police (USCP). The incumbent conducts and oversees audits related to the area of responsibility, ensures audit follow-ups are completed, provides resolutions for accounts payable, travel discrepancies, or other fiscal or reporting matters. Functions as a senior advisor providing professional advice and guidance to senior management and subordinate personnel on difficult and controversial accounting and financial issues; and legal and regulatory requirements for accounting, reporting, cash management, and specialized areas of budget formulation and execution. Oversees and directs the analysis and evaluation of accounts payable and travel program issues and identifies acceptable resolutions.

Utilizes federal accounting standards, fiscal law, policies, regulations, principles, standards, internal controls, and procedures for financial management activities. Identifies and implements changes and improvements to internal controls within the APO. Provides financial guidance to OFM staff and other USCP units to ensure accurate classification and timely recording of transactions entered directly into the accounting system or in systems interfaced with the system, and to ensure data maintained subsidiary ledgers are reconciled with accounting system data on a timely basis. 

Provides a variety of analytical, technical, and administrative work for APO program areas including invoice payment, travel programs, reconciling cash, accounts payable, and other support activities. Verifies source documents for accuracy, determines necessary transactions, and identifies and analyzes changes in program plans, financial policies regulations, and constraints and their effect on organizational objectives. Reviews and maintains financial data and reports using business tools and applications, cost and economic analysis, and performance metrics to provide recommendations. Research and analyze information related to accounting processes to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting transactions.

This position is located in the Inspections Division (ID), Office of Inspections and Policy, Assistant Chief of Police for Standards and Training Operations, USCP.  The Program Review Specialist is responsible for reviewing the Department's internal policy performance and compliance program.

Conducts inspection and compliance program reviews of the Department's mission-essential programs to determine conformity with established objectives, laws, rules, regulations, and policies. Evaluates the adequacy of established controls, efficiency of operations, and effectiveness in achieving program results.  Identifies and develops performance measures and consults with the Associate Director of ID on discrepancies that may require modifications to the established measures utilized to assess the performance of new and established programs.

Prepares detailed work papers to document observed results, findings, conclusions, deficiencies, and recommendations for corrective action to USCP management.  Briefs the Associate Director on issues concerning the policy interpretations or applicability of internal inspection and compliance findings, notable concerns, and corrective action recommendations. Utilizes various statistical process methods and tools to analyze, facilitate, report, and provide recommendations for process improvements, adherence to directives and standard operating procedures, and establishes appropriate controls.

Coordinates with the Internal Controls Division in responding to information requests from external audit agencies, such as the General Accounting Office and the Office of Inspector General for statistical data about the policy performance and compliance program.  Maintains a database system and records all reviews and findings. Designs schedules to ensure that routine reviews, subsequent evaluations and other pertinent actions are per USCP requirements. Contributes to the efforts of the ID to ensure that business functions and operations are adequately supported.

The purpose of this position is to serve as a Special Assistant United States Attorney located in U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, DC. The position reports to the USCP Deputy and General Counsels; however, the position will work daily under the direct supervision and authority of the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the District of Columbia.

The purpose of this position is to represent the United States Government primarily prosecuting individuals and/or groups who have engaged in threats and/or acts of violence against Members of Congress, their staffs, United States Capitol Police employees, visitors to the Capitol complex, and facilities and properties within the Capitol Complex.

OIS provides modern, cost effective, reliable, and secure information and technology products and services - a vital enabler of, and strategic asset to the USCP's mission.  The Enterprise Architect serves as the principal advisor to the Chief Information Officer with responsibility for establishing the agency's technical vision and leading all aspects of technology development.

Creates and implements a vision for the USCP's information management framework, technology systems engineering, and the technical management of information technology in accordance with the Information Technology Management Reform Act of 1996.  Designs customer-oriented initiatives and objectives that are based on the successful implementation of the road maps. ID Special Agents - 
Investigate criminal and terroristic activity involving violations of the D.C. Code and Title 18 of the U.S. Code; Collect, evaluate, interpret, and disseminate information related to the mission of the ID; Prepare and disseminate written reports including reports of investigation, various investigative assessments, and investigations bulletins; Perform a full range of comprehensive investigative functions to include planning, organizing, fact-finding, and reporting results on cases ranging from routine to highly complex; Perform protective intelligence operations, coordinating investigative and operational efforts with other USCP sworn officers and outside agency officials; Serve as a liaison with local, state, and Federal law enforcement agencies; Conduct surveillance, surveillance detection, and counter surveillance operations; Represent the USCP during investigative and law enforcement meetings. Serve arrest and search warrants; work with judicial officials for prosecution.

This position is located within the Protective Services Bureau (PSB), Assistant Chief of Police for Protective and Intelligence Operations (ACOP-P&IO), United States Capitol Police (USCP). PSB collects and analyzes information to produce intelligence, assess threats, enforce the law, identify risks, and develop and employ risk mitigation, Member protection, and enforcement strategies.  Specialty Units include Investigations, Intelligence and Interagency Coordination, and Dignitary Protection.
A United States Capitol Police Special Agent within PSB performs a full range of protective and investigative functions.  Special Agents are assigned to PSB’s Dignitary Protection Division (DPD) or Investigations Division (ID). The PSB DPD is responsible for carrying out protective functions and operations. The PSB ID is responsible for investigating violations of the D.C. Code and Title 18 of the U.S. Code to include allegations of criminal activity, terroristic activity, and threats or unusual interests against Members of Congress and other statutory protectees of Congress that occur in the jurisdiction of the USCP as defined by 2 USC § 1966(a) & (f).
Duties include but are not limited to:
DPD Special Agents - 
Provide protection of congressional leadership, including the coordination of security arrangements for domestic and international travel through advance security surveys and on-the-ground protection. Provide personal security of Members of Congress and their families; visiting officials of foreign, Federal, state, and/or local governments, and other congressional visitors.
