Legal Technical Supervisor - Estate Planning
From £40,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)
Full time, 37.5 hours. Monday-Friday
Remote, with occasional travel across either of our four office locations in Bristol, Manchester, Sheffield, or Stratford-Upon-Avon

Due to continued growth of the department, we're looking for an additional technical supervisor to join our estate planning team at Co-op Legal Services.

In this role, you'll oversee technical supervision, training, and case quality throughout the department, giving technical legal advice and support to colleagues, making sure we're providing the best service for our clients. We'll also look to you to line manage a high performing team of experienced case supervision lawyers, making sure they're meeting performance targets and providing upskilling where required. This role would suit someone who has been a professional support lawyer in the field of private client or has extensive technical estate planning knowledge and experience and is looking to develop their managerial skills. There's no client facing work, time recording, or billable targets, and they'll be no business development work, allowing you to focus on the law, quality assurance and your leadership development, and as we continue to grow there's never been a more exciting time to join us.

What you'll do

• Provide technical legal advice on estate planning cases to team leaders, case supervision managers, case handlers, legal assistants and key partners through a variety of channels
• Inclusively line manage a team of case supervision lawyers, ensuring their development
• Manage your team's performance, reviewing MI and reports to make sure that performance targets are consistently being met
• Perform file audits and review outcomes in accordance with our internal frameworks
• Work with the head of practice to identify and deliver training and design policy improvements to address themes highlighted in supervision outcomes
• Support with recruiting team leaders and legal staff
• Work closely with senior team leaders to upskill them on technical matters to allow them to better support their teams
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the law and estate planning within the private client field, briefing the department on any changes in the law and practice

Family Law Solicitor
£34,000-£48,000 dependant on experience plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)
Manchester City Centre or Bristol - hybrid working between home and the office

Due to continued growth of our Family law team, we're looking for solicitors to join us at Co-op Legal Services across a variety of levels, from newly qualified up to Senior level.

At Co-op Legal Services we do things differently, we're passionate about providing an exceptional client experience and our Family department has a 4.8/5 trust pilot rating owing to just that. In this role, you'll manage a variety of new and existing family caseloads end to end with a client focused approach to targets. We'll look to you to use your expertise to provide the best outcomes for your clients and work collaboratively with your team. You won't need to bring a following of clients with you as we will source these for you. As a fast-growing business, we're committed to supporting your development and providing you with the opportunity to shape our future.

What you'll do

* take ownership of a mixed caseload of family matters, undertaking active negotiation to get the best results for your clients, administrative and secretarial support will also be provided
* use our case management system to make sure information is recorded accurately
* meet individual and team chargeable time & profit cost targets
* draft and audit legal documents and correspondence
* if you're bought in at the senior level they'll also be some line management responsibilities for the associate solicitors

This role would suit people who have

* qualified as solicitor / CILEX qualified, with experience in handling privately funded family law matters
* proven experience of working towards and meeting chargeable and billing targets
* good general IT skills including use of a case management system
* great relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with all types of people and provide excellent customer service
* a high level of attention to detail and great organisational skills
* resilience with the ability to embrace change
