Cyber Security Specialist
Key Role:
Assist with the design, implementation, and management of procedures to ensure compliance with client standards and Authorization Official (AO) requirements. Apply consulting skills and technical expertise to assist Government Information Security personnel with information technology (IT) security matters, including continuous monitoring of system components, vulnerability scanning and remediation, coordinating security incidents, and evaluating and recommending security technologies. Apply the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process, including updating required documentation, participating in security assessment interviews and briefings, and ensuring artifacts are created and maintained for all enclave system packages. Assist with oversight, evaluation, and support of the documentation, validation, assessment, and authorization processes necessary to ensure that existing and new IT systems meet the organization's cybersecurity and risk requirements. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Communicate program changes to leadership, make presentations to management of a complex nature, and lead and serve effectively on process teams. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and supervise team members.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience supporting Information Assurance and Cybersecurity activities in RMF or Cyber Policy and Planning
- Experience as an IS Security Specialist
- Experience conducting system patching following the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program and documenting validation and compliance
- Experience navigating government agency IT systems
- Knowledge of national, DoD, and Air Force statutory and regulatory policies, directives, and procedures relating to Cyber Surety, Cybersecurity, RMF, and Information Assurance operations activities
- Ability to respond to crises or urgent situations within the pertinent domain to assist in the mitigation of immediate and potential threats, including Classified Information Spillages
- Ability to apply mitigation, preparedness, response, or recovery approaches to maximize survival of life, preservation of property, and information security
- TS/SCI clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- DoD 8570.01-M-approved Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I Certifications, including ISC2 Certification Authorization Professional (CAP), GIAC Security Leadership Certificate (GSLC), CompTIA Security+ Continuing Education (CE), CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) CE, ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or EC-Council Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO) Certification
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to analyze and evaluate risk to enclave computer systems, assist in the performance of security testing, and select, recommend, implement, and monitor security controls to mitigate identified risks
- Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions, and document the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for executive-level use and decision-making
- Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
