The incumbent is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and update of Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE) monitoring systems in support of all divisions of the VAMC; for providers in full-time, part-time, temporary, intermittent, contract, without compensation (WOC) and fee basis appointments in accordance with VHA C&P directives, handbooks and policies; Joint Commission (TJC) Standards; and State and Federal Regulations. The incumbent applies analytical and evaluative methods and techniques for assessing the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of key program processes and makes recommendations to leadership for improving policies, processes and procedures. This position is supervised by the C&P Manager.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assesses the effectiveness, efficiency and compliance of key program processes.
- Conducts analytical assessments of program processes and procedures.
- Analysis of clinical evaluation plans to assure they meet standards.
- Conducts analytical reviews maintenance and data tracking on key processes related to the Credentialing and Privileging program.
- Applies analytical skills in understanding the data, noting key issues, and making data driven decisions that impact key areas of the C&P Program.
- Manages special projects for new program initiatives and requirements and for process improvements and changes.
- Identifies issues and recommends corrective actions to supervisor, organizational leaders, or administrative support personnel, as appropriate, and estimates compliance timelines for resolution.
- Makes adaptations or recommendations to larger internal processes/policy changes to supervisor.
- Primary consultant to the supervisor for the development and implementation of program operations that have a direct impact on data management and process improvements.
- Manages special projects for new program initiatives and requirements and for process improvements and changes.
- Consults with medical care providers on plans to ensure all required information is supplied.
- Assesses internal/external communication to identify substantive issues in meeting program requirements.
- Provides technical guidance and supports program leadership by conducting and analyzing healthcare provider industry studies.
- Track program data from beginning to end for compliance purposes.
- Implements tracking and monitoring systems for action indicated by the Credential Committee.
- Manages data collection and reporting outcomes.
- Applies technical skills to extract and analyze large datasets in a variety of formats (i.e. Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Determines baselines for complex assessments and determines which issues require tracking and further analysis.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Preferred Experience: 1 year of credentialing experience to include reviewing FPPE/OPPE performance evaluations preferred. At least one year experience with MS Office, one year experience with database management.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (subject to change based on agency needs)
