Job Description

We are looking to hire a skilled CNC programmer to operate and maintain our CNC equipment. As a CNC programmer, you will read and interpret technical blueprints, input the design specifications, adjust the machine cutting paths, and perform quality checks on the final product. You may also be required to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.

To ensure success as a CNC Programmer, you should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work unsupervised. Ultimately, a top-class CNC programmer works quickly and efficiently, ensuring all products meet the specifications of the client.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models.
• Loading raw materials into the CNC machine.
• Inputting the product design into the computer modelling software.
• Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job.
• Adjust machine settings to the desired product specifications.
• Create CNC program for new development projects, typically direct from a drawing.
• Calculate and write programs for CNC work centres to fabricate component parts to stated engineering specifications.
• Works independently to troubleshoot and resolve problems concerning machining operations, tools, materials and CNC programs.
• Perform detailed analysis of the component parts configuration/dimensions to determine the most efficient machining operations required for production.
• Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.
• Completing quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product.
• Insert computer programs into CNC work centres, set and adjust machine speeds and feeds, modify programs and document changes as required.      

Requirements

• Professional Certificate or Diploma in Engineering field or related courses.
• Minimum 2 years experience in CNC programming.
• Candidates with hands on experience with CNC Milling operations are preferred.
• Candidates who are familiar with Mastercam and Gibbscam will have added advantage.
• Must be able to speak and write in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Must be able to use Microsoft Office.

• Work with the project managers to drive SW development schedule.
• Ensure all aspects of SW design and development including schedule adherence, cost, and performance/quality of the delivered product.
• Manages all SW project team activities and coordinates SW project resources.
• Coordinate the software development processes where project status is captured continuously, monitor project schedule and create status report, if necessary decide on actions in case of deviations.
• Communicates SW project status and progress to management.

Involved in technical and demo support for Omron products and also distributors and channel relationships and partnership collaborations across all levels, while also looking for opportunities to drive further business growth

Key responsibilities:

• Follow-up the latest development of product trend.
• Specialize and build expertise in the assigned product lines.
• Identify customer needs and propose best available product mix or value package.
• Contribute to or participate in product and application seminar with customer.
• Ability to judge the customer application based on the sample given.
• Understand market / customer demand / requirement on product and provide feedback to HQ.
• Develop and share products and technical knowledge which will help solve customer problems.
• Technically competent to support and back up Industry sales team for new applications involving Vision, Smart Sensor, Microscan, PLC, Motion, Sysmac and robot products.
• Conduct off-line and on-line product evaluation / demonstration at customer place.
• Provide system proposal to channel partners and customers.
• Submit weekly report for sample testing results and customer visits.
• To provide internal training (product knowledge sharing) to OMRON’s non-technical support staff, new recruits and channel partners.
