This position is located in the Human Resource Management Division, Personnel Director's Branch, Staffing and Employee Relations Section (SERS), Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Washington, D.C.

Responsible for planning, developing, and administering staffing programs for the BOP.

Provides guidance to HR Specialists in field institutions, Central Office, regional offices and other key management officials.

Adjudicates staffing issues that are precedent setting, involve national policy, or are of a key nature organizationally.

The Platform Solutions Branch is responsible for serving as the business owner for innovative software platforms supporting key judiciary initiatives. The position reports directly to the Chief of the Emerging Technology Division and is responsible for the strategic direction, growth, and overall success of the software platform(s) within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of the market, technology, and business operations of the judiciary to drive innovation, customer satisfaction, and effectiveness.

The incumbent is responsible for serving as the business owner for several platforms such as CI/CD, low-code/no-code, RPA, etc., and will lead and mentor teams of federal IT specialists and contractor resources to provide new capabilities and platforms to the judiciary in support of all judiciary modernization efforts. In alignment with the mission of the Emerging Technology Division, the incumbent also works closely with platform stakeholders across the judiciary to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization and supports the evolution of the Emerging Technology Division's services and operations.

• Engineers the base LAN/WAN systems, architecture designs and monitors new network systems, configures, and installs network hardware/software, and maintains optimal LAN operations. Independently installs, configures, and troubleshoots network and application server hardware, operating system software, and peripheral network equipment such as routers, bridges, cabling system, network interface cards, modems, multiplexers, and concentrator.

• Conducts research and strategic analysis to develop policies and draft complex products, such as advisories to financial institutions, to disseminate key information regarding threats and risks that FinCEN has determined to be especially significant; Leads staff-level discussions on emerging trends, topics, and innovation as it relates to Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Finance of Terrorism (AML/CFT) issues. Manages the development and recommendations of policy responses to safeguard the U.S. financial system from illicit use, combat money laundering, and promote national security.
• Assists the Director of the Office of Strategic Policy in maintaining awareness of significant emerging trends, issues, policy developments, and innovative advances related to AML/CFT risks and vulnerabilities. The Associate Director Education supports the Deputy Director and the Senior Consultant for Operations in overseeing SPP Education and is responsible for coordinating and supporting VHA's National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide and develops national suicide prevention training and education as well as recommends policy, programming and planning actions, and strategic guidance for suicide prevention for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The incumbent is responsible for the advancement of the translation of new suicide prevention initiatives into educational resources across the VA system and works closely with the Rocky Mountain MIRECC and VISN 2 CoE for Suicide Prevention in the translation process. The Associate Director Education is responsible for ensuring national rollout of initiatives are in alignment with implementation science principles and include interface with a wide range of clinical and administrative offices within VHA.
