LaMotte Company, a 100+ year-old global industry leader in developing and manufacturing premier water analysis solutions, operating in Newark, DE, Chestertown, MD and Warwick, UK. Our products are used around the world to accurately, quickly, and conveniently test water in a multitude of applications.
The Technical Sales Engineer will manage direct sales to new accounts primarily for the Industrial markets, with other assigned markets as needed. The position will report directly to LaMotte’s Asia Sales Director and will be based in Singapore. The candidate will be required to support existing direct accounts in the region as a local technical resource, as well as grow the market by adding new strategic accounts, in alignment with the organizational strategy. This position requires a high technical aptitude and the ability to stay abreast of markets trends.
Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Grow the business of the direct accounts, as well as prospect for new business in accordance with the sales business strategy. Report updates against the strategy on a monthly basis.
2. Provide technical assistance and understanding to new and existing customers through product training, application evaluations, technical support, and on-site troubleshooting.
3. Actively seek direct technical training opportunities events / seminars with existing and new key clients
4. Direct customer sales of LaMotte products for the Industrial sectors but also other specified industries for the LaMotte product range.
5. Conduct customer visits both virtually and in person with regular follow-ups, quoting, relationship management and presentations of product offerings.
6. Strategize, prospect and secure new business within the industry.
7. Research competitive products and market trends, share the gathered information with the Product Management team, and provide suggestions for new features to be included in the future.
8. Maintain working knowledge of LaMotte’s product lines.
9. Work closely with the Marketing team to create and prepare marketing collateral.
10. Efficiently manage the accounts, opportunities, and contacts.
11. Provide forecasting for accounts in the region and update them on a quarterly basis.
12. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance when representing the company.
13. Periodic travel is required to existing accounts, prospect accounts and other industry events as necessary. Estimated travel is approximately 25-50%.
14. Attend and be part of the exhibiting Sales Team at Asian Trade Exhibitions
15. Upon request, visit and report on Asian Trade Exhibitions that LaMotte is not attending
16. Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key players in the industry.
17. Regular attendance and the ability to get along with others in a team environment.
18. Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
· Degree educated in a technical or business discipline is required
· 3 – 5 years of sales related experience required
· Strong business development and key account management skills
· Troubleshooting skills with the ability to problem solve in a customer setting
· CRM Experience preferred (Salesforce)

Environmental Factors & Physical Demands:
Works in a home office setting working on the computer or phone. No significant exertion required. Travels to both plants to interact with employees and managers and attend meetings. Travels to offsite training sessions/seminars, meetings, job fairs, and other locations as needed. Some international travel outside of Asia may be required.
