Responsible for developing and conducting safety training classes for the inmate population and staff.

Functions as the institution authority on security equipment such as locks, locking devices and systems, blue print and schematic analyzing.

Ensures the physical security of the facility as it relates to structural requirements, operations and total familiarization of the life safety codes for the institution environment.

Analyzes mechanical, electrical locks, locking systems, engineering blue prints, weapon repair and schematics. Troubleshoots locks and locking devices, and makes necessary repairs.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving test strategies, test plans, and test execution for Ciena’s WaveLogic Optical Modem. Additionally, the candidate will support field activities and frequently interact with customers, PLM, and R&D.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive test plans to validate customer use-cases and product capabilities
• Build test environment for test execution while considering potential and likely interactions across different features of the product
• Perform validation testing activities
• Work and interact closely with subject matter experts to ensure testing of customer focused solutions, compliancy to specifications, and resolution of issues found during test phase
• Develop automation test cases for execution efficiency and augment existing automated test cases
• Support customer lab and field activities, and track issues to successful resolution
• Review customer-reported issues and feedback with appropriate subject matter experts from other groups to determine design improvements that can be made
• Diagnose and troubleshoot software issues, collaborating with customers and developers to identify root causes and implement effective solutions

Experience

• Familiarity with coherent optical modem concepts and optical networks
• Experience in a lab environment and with lab test equipment
• Prior experience in a development environment with experience testing in customer use cases and executing cross functional workflows using API micro services
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with optical and related networking equipment for external customers
• Experience with optical equipment or other related networking equipment with external customers

Skills

• Knowledge of automation languages such as Python and should be able to write, execute and fix automation scripts
• Understand hardware and embedded software design concepts
• Possesses the ability to independently conduct on-site troubleshooting of customer issues, collaborate with internal development teams to diagnose root causes and implement effective solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in troubleshooting
• Leadership capabilities and an aptitude for team-oriented development activities
• Strong commitment to product excellence and quality, with ability to understand customers’ perspective
• Communication skills, presentation, and public speaking
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, to effectively communicate/collaborate in multi-site environment
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
• Understanding of CLI, JSON, and SDKs and how to use them to effectively communicate with and configure devices
• Knowledge of Jenkins CI/CD or other CI/CD platforms is a plus
• Understanding of A/D conversion, sampling theory, digital filtering and other coherent DSP techniques

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Optical Communications with 4+ years of relevant experience of system test in telecommunications domain
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally as required
• Must be eligible to obtain a US security clearance.

You Have:   

• 7+ years of experience working with software development teams   
• 5+ years of experience with Azure    
• Experience with designing and implementing large-scale architectures on Azure 
• Experience with Azure services, including API management and Developer Portal, Application Gateway, and Active Directory 
• Experience with architecting solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and security in an Azure environment 
• Experience with load balancing, SSL, Wed Application Firewalls, and layer 7 routing 
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements 
• Bachelor’s degree  

Nice If You Have:  

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform and Azure Resource Manager  
• Experience with implementing application security policies and access contracts using OAuth 2.0, SAML, Federation, and SSO 
• Experience with developing Linux-based solutions using commercial Cloud  
• Experience with Kubernetes   
• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments 
• Experience with deploying and maintaining databases and document stores 
• Experience with deploying and managing logging and monitoring solutions supporting rapid deployments
