Serves as a training instructor in a vocational or occupational training program in the Education Department of a Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) correctional facility and may also serve as a program coordinator for other vocational/occupational training programs.

Selects and/or develops curriculums which focus on the appropriate vocational training area.

This position has direct responsibility for the delivery of classroom training for vocational and apprenticeship courses in the field/trade of HVAC.

Develops a curriculum design and record-keeping system to organize and track student progress through identified course work.

Serves as a subject matter expert to the field locations, which requires a broad range of knowledge and experience related to Bureau of Prisons policy and procedure, as well as demonstration of sound correctional practices.

Serves as a Medication Technician in a Federal Bureau of Prisons Institution.

Responsible for the administration and distribution of medication to inmates in various locations, including the Health Services Unit, Special Housing Units, or other designated areas within the institution.

Administers medications to include but not limited to Oral, Topical, Nebulized, Meter Dose Inhaler, and Insulin, in a manner consistent with nationally recognized safe medical practices, to include accurate identification of the patient, medication, dosage, time, and route.

Reports and records adverse medication reactions.

Assists Pharmacist or other appropriate staff member in a variety of pharmacy related activities, including, but not limited to, entry of physician orders into a computerized pharmacy information system, preparation of medications for Pharmacist review, preparation of medication administration records, storage and inventory of pharmacy supplies, etc.

As an IT Specialist (Network Services), GS-2210-11, you will:

Design and engineer IT networks carried over various transmission systems such as multi-channel satellite, troposphere scatter systems, Line-Of-Sight (LOS) RF radios, LOS laser radios, and cable systems. Engineers and designs router-to-router connections utilizing military and commercial protocols, switch-to-switch trunking, circuit configurations through military and commercial multiplexers, and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM). Develops plans for employment of communications systems to support operations in support of training and the deployed warfighter.

Plan and design Wide Area Networks (WANs) consisting of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Military Specification (MILSPEC) components to operate IAW accepted Information Technology (IT) security policies using network planning tools. Determines operational, technical and support requirements for the location, installation, operation and maintenance of network equipment and systems. Coordinates and conducts operational tests and evaluations of designed networks to optimize capabilities. Reviews and analyzes data, makes technical judgments, and prepares decisions and recommendations concerning the quality, acceptability, and/or need for changes/improvements.

Utilize a broad knowledge of IT concepts, principles, methods and practices to identify, coordinate, and implement actions required to provide network services that support a requesting agency's requirements. Identifies potential network and transmission deficiencies in planned or current operational networks.

Manage frequency assignment and control of operating frequencies. Provides technical guidance and direction for different aspects of radio frequency spectrum analysis to the warfighter. Determines the compatibility of frequency assignments for fixed station and/or mobile radio, radar, satellite links, and other systems used by the military. Coordinates frequency assignments with DOD, MAJCOM, ANG, base, and unit spectrum managers. Conducts transmission path analysis (path profiling) with various computerized programs. Coordinates with external agencies for satellite and gateway access for IT systems in support of warfighter and training requirements.

Determine requirements and requests resources from different agencies to support contingency and/or training networks. Coordinates with supported agencies on IT network requirements. Through utilization of the Financial Management Information System (FMIS), the incumbent enters obligation changes to cost centers, ensuring the appropriate documentation exists for all entries, as well as, reviews the automated recordings of obligations, making any adjustments necessary to the computer feeds, to ensure the FMIS financial reports are reliable.

Responsible for monitoring, reviewing and processing all obligations for accuracy and timeliness.

Provides expertise on, and makes manual FMIS entries through the use of over five hundred transaction codes.
