• Develop facility specific Controlled Substance Inspector (CSI) training materials.
• Resolve Control Substance Program management issues that arise at the facility.
• Serve as principal advisor on issues of organization compliance for the HCS.

If selected for this position, you will be responsible for independently providing planning, designing, executing, and supervising Information Technology (IT) programs, projects, and work involving a variety of IT specialist areas which support the information management needs of the District of Minnesota. The IT environment includes personal computers, routers, switches, bridges, a wide area network and local area network, operating systems, and case management systems. Typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to:

Primary responsibility is to provide supervision and instruction to 25-30 inmate workers who are assigned the duties of cooks, butchers, bakers, dining and dish workers, vegetable preparation workers, and pot and pan washers.

Provides continual training to the inmate workers in order to update their knowledge in all phases of production, presentation, and sanitation of food items. Oversees the receiving, storing, and issue of all food and non-food items.

Responsible for security operations such as key control, yeast control, knife and blade control, inmate accountability and conducts routine contraband searches throughout the work area.

What are the Major Duties of this Position?

Provides a range of standard patient care under the guidance of a Supervisory Clinical Nurse.

Assists with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Provides first aid and assists with providing emergency medical care to inmates injured in fights and/or accidents.

Administers and documents medications accurately according to policy/procedure and physician orders.

Assigned to rotating shifts and patient care units.

Assists Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in performing patient care activities for psychiatric and long-term medical/surgical patients.

Serves as a Medication Technician in a Federal Bureau of Prisons Institution.

Responsible for the administration and distribution of medication to inmates in various locations, including the Health Services Unit, Special Housing Units, or other designated areas within the institution.

Administers medications to include but not limited to Oral, Topical, Nebulized, Meter Dose Inhaler, and Insulin, in a manner consistent with nationally recognized safe medical practices, to include accurate identification of the patient, medication, dosage, time, and route.

Reports and records adverse medication reactions.

Assists Pharmacist or other appropriate staff member in a variety of pharmacy related activities, including, but not limited to, entry of physician orders into a computerized pharmacy information system, preparation of medications for Pharmacist review, preparation of medication administration records, storage and inventory of pharmacy supplies, etc.
