- Performs project management duties, when applicable, which includes responsibility for ensuring project goals are accomplished. This duty may include providing technical direction to other civilian, military or contractor personnel.
- Assists the supervisor with the establishment of goals, objectives, and priorities of the organization.
- Conducts test and evaluation of respective telecommunications systems and networks.
- Resolves difficult technical issues associated with the installation or change in configuration of equipment and systems.
- Manages funds, when applicable, and tracks expenditures for the respective equipment, system, or program to ensure adequate resources are available to complete projects or provide service to customers.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of user information transfer requirements to assess the ability of future SATCOM investment strategies to support present and emerging communications requirements.
- Based on an assessment of user requirements, develops system concepts and plans to include programs needed to develop future capabilities that will allow satisfaction of user requirements and/or implementation of appropriate system concepts.
