We have a vacancy for an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead dedicated technician teams across multiple sites across the Home Counties/South East.
About the role
As the Technical Services Manager, you’ll have responsibility for the safe, profitable, and quality delivery of Facilities Management Technical Services, driving productivity and exceeding targets through active management, employee engagement and continuous improvement.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading a team of 20 x BES, F&S, BFM and Assets Engineers in the delivery of Technical Services across multiple sites.
- Recruitment, conducting inductions, training identification, attendance, and performance management.
- Act as the safety lead, monitor performance, deliver safety information and conduct safety audits to ensure safe systems of work are followed.
- Ensure scheduled and non-planned work are delivered in the most cost effect manner, productivity, customer satisfaction targets are exceeded and achieve financial P&L targets.
- Work with Contract Managers, SME’s and Technical Compliance Managers to ensure the successful delivery of all third-party supplier services, recovery plans are in place and monitored to required standards.
The role will involve frequent travel around the South/Home Counties
- St Albans (AL), Enfield (EN), Hemel (HP), Stevenage (SG), Luton (LU) and Watford (WD).Attendance - Monday to Friday, predominantly 08:00
- 16:00. A degree of flexibility is required to meet operational demands
- this may involve early, night and ad-hoc weekend attendance to support the engineering team. Additionally, you need to be available for the manager call out rota as required (approx. 1 in 6 weekends/unsociable hours) and Technical Operations Manager cover when required.About youYou need to demonstrate the following skills and experience on your CV:
- A background of hard services operational experience at a relevant mechanical and electrical engineering leadership level (essential)
- Experience of leading, supporting, managing and developing a team of engineers to improve performance (essential)
- A Relevant technical qualification at or above NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in Building and Maintenance.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Compliance legislation relating to FM services industry, must have knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
- Experience of financial management, cost control and targeted achievements.
- Experience of working within a unionised environment.
