Here at Saga, our central technology team are recruiting for an Application Developer. A longstanding colleague of ours is due to retire this summer, therefore you could be joining an established expert team, working on exciting projects for customer data across all of our business areas.
Working as a C# .Net Application Developer, you will be focussed on Saga’s ‘Customer Hub’. The Customer Hub team sits in the Technology function and collaborates with stakeholders from across the organisation and trusted third parties, receiving all customer transactions for processing, ensuring data quality and customer matching across product lines / business groups, then republishes through products such as Adobe Campaign for use in an array of marketing campaigns.
You’ll be collaborating closely with other Application Developers and Lead Developers and across the wider IT community, plus engaging with business stakeholders. In this role you will get the chance to deliver, maintain and enhance applications within the Customer Hub function.
This team is fast moving, iterative and highly agile. A great chance for you to develop your skills on multiple platforms, programming languages and interesting projects, we will also support you to enhance your skills in this role.
*You will be required to visit the London and/or Ashford Saga Hubs a few times each month. Candidates applying will need to be in a commutable distance to ensure they are able to visit the London or Ashford Hub as and when required by the business.

Main ResponsibilitiesOur Application Developer will be responsible for the following areas:
- Troubleshooting and data fixes.
- Building and modifying software applications in line with business needs and requirements.
- Integrating software components and third-party applications.
- Working with UAT/QA teams, ensuring any deliveries are of high quality and meet or exceed standards.
- Working collaboratively with other Technology professionals to deliver technology programmes, projects and workstreams.
- Ensuring deliveries are secure, in line with best practice and aligned to policy.
- Creating and maintaining technical documents.
- Remaining up to date with development best practice.
- Assisting with troubleshooting systems and work collaboratively to resolve and prevent any defects, risk or issues.
The Ideal CandidateHere at Saga, we have a database of over 9 million active customers. We need our Application Developer to work on flow and fixes of customer data across various systems and customer journeys. Where else could you be exposed to consumer facing products across the likes of insurance, travel, cruise and financial products.
We need our new Application Developer to demonstrate the following skills;
- Have already worked in a C# / .net Application Development role.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and time management skills.
- Has clear knowledge of coding languages and frameworks; C#, ASP .NET, T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server)
- Shows the desire to learn new coding languages and technologies.
- Has an eye for detail and identifying problems.
Desirable;
- Knowledge of JIRA.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
- Has worked to agile methodologies in a previous role.
- IIS and Windows Server.
