The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Procurement team in our BlueScope Building Components business as a Data Entry Officer (Purchasing) at our Archerfield branch. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.
Working within a fast-paced and customer-focused team, you will play an integral role in coordinating and supporting purchasing. You'll be responsible for ensuring critical purchasing and procurement data is entered accurately and maintained. Establishing mutually successful relationships with internal teams and vendors, you’ll be supporting the business in a vital function, allowing us to maintain a cost competitive position.
We have a friendly team who are close at hand to support you during onboarding and beyond.
Our office hours are 9am – 5pm, we can offer some flexibility to start and finish time to help you manage the work life balance juggling act!
What Will You Do?
Being part of our on-site team at our busy production hub, in addition to servicing other QLD based locations, you'll will be confident in establishing relationships and proficient with computers and systems. You will be:
- processing purchase orders and managing the information and data associated with these
- supporting on all purchasing related admin-based tasks, handling order confirmations and invoice issues/queries as they arise
- monitor the quality of supplier service through vendor ratings and accounts payable
- following up suppliers to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
- ensure all code of conduct and trade practices requirements are observed
More About You
As someone who has experience within, or familiarity with the purchasing function and a willingness to learn, you’ll bring:
- high attention to detail and ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- strong interpersonal skills and confident communicating with a variety of stakeholders
- proficiency in MS Office applications
- the ability to pick up systems and processes quickly
