GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job manages, supervises, and coordinates the daily operations of a specific patient care department under the direction of the Nurse Manager, providing clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. Contributes to the strategic planning process and attainment of goals of the department/unit, the organization and network.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

LEADERSHIP:

• Role model mission, vision, and values within their defined areas of responsibility.

• Promotes unit based shared governance to include ongoing support through consultation and assistance in eliminating barriers in partnership with the nurse manager
• Promotes professional development plan and conducts quarterly check-ins with staff
• Promotes and encourages nursing specialty certification in partnership with the nurse manager
• Promotes employee engagement through leadership rounding.

QUALITY AND PATIENT SAFETY:

• Identifies, plans, and implements activities in partnership with the nurse manager in specified clinical departments which ensures patient care is delivered in accordance with professional standards for nursing practice and is evidenced based, meets patient safety goals and standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitors departmental performance in appropriate evidence-based practices quality and patient safety goals, meeting assigned goals.
• Develops action plan for any goal not met which includes timeline.

• Maintains both FTE and Goods/Services within established budget, completes variance reports according to established guidelines.
• Utilizes established tools to monitor monthly budget performance, conducting drill down to explain variances as needed.
• Completes daily productivity tracker
• Collaborates with nurse manager to address overtime use with individuals as needed with documentation of discussion.

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT:

• Fosters the development of staff through coaching, mentoring, and creating an environment which encourages learning and use of research.
• Assures appropriate orientation and onboarding, education, credentialing, and professional development for personnel in collaboration with education development specialists
• Encourages and facilitates staff membership on councils and committees
• Encourage and facilitate attendance at nursing grand rounds and other educational programs according to educational needs assessment of unit/department or network.

• National Certification (CCRN)

• Effectively identifies barriers and analyzes situations for assigned patient population, including risk for admission/readmission, external resources, and patient/family capacity in order to determine safe plans for transition and care coordination. (20%)
• Coordinates the clinical care with the patient, family, provider(s), and members of the interdisciplinary team. (25%)
• Advocates for patients and families through effectively communicating with providers, interdisciplinary team members, payers, and post-acute partners to assure effective outcomes and care. (15%)

• Nationally recognized Case Management Certification within 5 years of start date. Incumbents in role as of 12/1/2022 have until 12/31/2025 to obtain.

• Performs all electoencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hour ambulatory EEGs, EMG/NCV testing, in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and departmental policy/procedures. • Schedules neurodiagnostic procedures and gives accurate instructions. (10%)
• Performs all billing documentation and maintains all departmental  records according to departmental policy/procedures. (10%)
• Maintains electrophysiological equipment, supplies, and performs quality control and analysis of all neurodiagnostic testing devices. (10%)
• Participates in activities to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by the department. (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Bachelor’s degree or one to two years of relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.

Preferred

• Graduate of an EEG Technologist Certificate Program and/or minimum of six months’ experience in EEG techniques.
• EMT, Medical Assistant Certification, PA Licensed Practical Nurse.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs a wide variety of technical and clinical and/or clerical duties to support the hospital wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. May be exposed to or responsible for maintaining confidential reports, entering and retrieving data utilizing the computer system, preparing intravenous medication, filing and delivering routine orders for unit dose and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and providing accurate assistance to the pharmacist in performing daily duties. All orders are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.                                       

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Distribution/Processing: Delivers routine, stat and floor-stock medications including controlled substances. Completes order entry and fills all types of medication orders within scope of practice. Processes charges, credits, admissions, discharges and transfers. Answers phones and relays messages within the department. Under direct supervision of the pharmacist, fills routine patient orders for unit dose carts and prepackaged pharmaceuticals, preparing, compounding and labeling IV admixture. Displays competency in the use of Pharmacy resources, including computer software (i.e., Automated Dispensing Cabinets, packagers, BCMA) and other technology. Performs routine supply and billing functions.
• Inventory: Continuously maintains pharmacy inventory and supplies according to established policies and procedures through assigned inspections, use of automated dispensing units and medication supplies depending on facility. Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations, restocks medications and prepackages bulk medications in unit dose packages.
• IV Prep/Packaging: Compounds, stocks, repackages and batches from bulk medications. Prepares routine patient orders for IV pharmaceuticals.
• Work Environment: Contributes to the effective operation of the department through all activities including computer functions, processing cart fill lists, pick lists, refill medications, generation of labels and answering phone appropriately. Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Safety and Quality: Participates in continuous performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts. Takes responsibility for quality improvement efforts and then monitors processes and results. Maintains an attitude that promotes and fosters an environment of safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required within 24 months of hire. Incumbents in role as of July 1, 2022 must achieve CPhT by 1/1/2024.

Preferred

• Completion of pharmacy technician training program.
• Previous experience working in a clinical healthcare setting.

Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Assists patients with menu selection process to ensure patients receive appropriate nutrition related items.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interacts with patients to collect appropriate food selection. Edits and enters selection into the computer system and verifies proper dietetic physician orders. (45%)
• Utilizes proper food handling and food storage techniques when assembling patient trays and when receiving, rotating, and storing food. (35%)
• Delivers and retrieves food carts and ensures that patient trays are delivered in accordance with the tray delivery schedule. (15%)
• Maintains and assembles the floor stock. (5%)
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• High school diploma, GED or working towards completion.

Preferred

• Three months to one year food and nutrition experience.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Assists patients with menu selection process to ensure patients receive appropriate nutrition related items.  Enter tube feeding orders in accordance with diet order and usage.  Set up TIM with iPhones. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

• Answer phone calls from patients and nursing staff to assist with menu selection in compliance with therapeutic diets as appropriate.  Assist patients with carbohydrate counting, fluid restrictions, and other parameters of Medical Nutrition Therapy as necessary.  Edits and enters selections into the computer system and verifies physician/physician extender order.  Enter tube feeding orders in accordance with diet order and usage.  Set up TIM with iPhones.
• Utilizes proper food handling and food storage techniques when assembling patient trays and receiving, rotating, and storing food.  Delivers and retrieves food carts and ensures that patient trays are delivered in accordance with the tray delivery system.  
• Support cleaning pots and pans at sink area.  

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• High School/GED
• Requires CBORD training and knowledge
• Strong math skills
