Business Overview:

Core Banking (Global) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Core Banking platforms globally. This role sits within Core Banking (UK), specifically the Retail Processing System (RPS), the Core Banking platform.

Purpose of the Job:

• To act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more of the domains/products/applications supported by RPS.
• Provide the capability to support 'getting the job done' through a combination of technical change as well as organizational change:

• Provide expertise in system/solution design.
• Provide empathy and understanding of the people and roles they play in organizations.
• Provide expertise and knowledge to influence decision making at a senior level.

Responsible For:

• Providing SME guidance across specific domains/products/applications in support of all elements of delivery/design/stakeholder support and service resilience.
• Providing key artefacts across specific domains/products/applications in support of all elements of delivery/design/stakeholder support and service resilience.

ESSENTIAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS (Experience, skills, competencies etc.)

• RPS is primarily hosted on IBM z-Series Mainframe. Experience of COBOL across batch and online (CICS) environments supported by a DB2 database is therefore essential.
• Experience of working within a banking organization.

Role Title: Technical Project Manager / Architect
Duration: 5 Months
Location: Sheffield / Hybrid (2 days on site)
Rate: £610/d - Umbrella only

Role purpose / summary

This is primarily a Project Management (PM) role that requires architectural knowledge.

The role involves working with Software as a Service (SaaS) applications that are hosted off-premises. It is not related to a Group data center (GDC), indicating it is for localized or smaller scale projects.

The role would be for a generic pack tailored for small-scale requirements. The role involves ticket-based access and is related to Privileged Access Management (PAM), which is concerned with controlling and monitoring privileged user access within an IT environment

Role Description:

Objective:
As a Technical Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing IT systems within our organization. Your role will involve bridging the gap between technical and business aspects, overseeing projects from conception to completion, and building a number of solutions based on the Tertiary Vault's capabilities and objectives

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement IT systems, taking into account infrastructure, storage, and networking.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and platforms.
• Define and document the overall solution architecture.
• Ensure system performance, scalability, and security.
• Provide technical guidance to development teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to the solution.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts.

Skills:

• Expertise in systems design.
• Strong knowledge of IT, including a comprehensive understanding of infrastructure technologies such as Storage, Network (N/W), Active Directory (AD), Unix, and on-premises & enterprise technologies.
• Proficiency in Word/ MS Office, and Visio.
• Knowledge of Linux (Primary) & Windows systems, especially in the areas of Storage & Backup, would be beneficial.
• Awareness of cybersecurity. However, please note that cybersecurity recovery is not covered in this role.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems creatively.
• Familiarity with Veritas & ComVault plus other multiplatform tools.
• This role requires a balance of technical expertise and business acumen, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of both on-premises and enterprise technologies, with a primary focus on Linux systems. Familiarity with various multiplatform tools including Veritas and ComVault, is also beneficial.
