Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to the care needed as described in the units, area's, and department's policies and procedures.
Hourly Range: $48.33 - $79.75
Duties:
• Accept on call duty from home or immediate area using area wide pager. Must be able to reach the hospital within a reasonable amount of time in order to provide care during times other than regularly scheduled workday.
• Assist in maintaining a constant update of administrative procedures, perfusion library and scientific paper library. Conducts product evaluations to remain current with product changes and product usage.
• Assists in maintaining accurate bypass records and preparing annual reports.
• Attends lectures, conferences, departmental meetings, and has regular meetings with the
• Chairman, Dept. of Anesthesiology, and the Dept. of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Attends regional, national and international conferences related to perfusion. Relates information to the other perfusionists and others as applicable.
• Lecture on request to interested groups.
• Orients new perfusionists and instructs nurses, medical students, and others in extracorporeal circulation techniques.
Qualifications:
• Certified by American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• Minimum experience of one year
Performs duties related to cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, autotransfusion, and related duties.
