If selected, you will serve as a Human Resources Specialist within the United States Attorney's Office - Eastern District of Michigan. The work involves providing a variety of human resources management services in two or more of the following functional areas: recruitment and placement, position classification, employee relations and performance management, employee benefits, labor relations, and human resources development. Assignments include both day-to-day case processing, advice and assistance to management and staff, and special projects.

Typical work assignments will include:

• Providing management with a wide range of flexible and innovative strategies in administering staffing and placement activities for the district.
• Providing advise and assistance in situations requiring extensive analysis.
• Providing a full range of classification and position management services for the district.
• Providing advise and assistance on the processes and procedures of performance management systems and incentive award programs.
• Planning, developing, and administering programs to train and develop district employees.

Serve as a Human Resources Assistant within the United States Attorney's Office - Eastern District of Michigan. The work involves providing routine technical assistance and processing support to Human Resources specialists who provide recruitment and placement, classification, employee relations, employee benefits, personnel action processing and other related services.

Duties may include:

• Screening requests, documents, and reports for completeness and accuracy.
• Receiving personnel actions and determining processing data to include the nature of action and authority codes, remarks and other requirements based on the nature of the action.
• Assisting in recruitment activities by verifying veterans' preference, coordinating entrance on duty and release dates, and processing pre-appointment security packets.
• Providing office automation support.

• Develops/advises on HR programs, which may include: Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance, Awards, Leave, Classification, and Hiring Panels.
• Provides technical guidance and evaluates organizational needs to resolve complex human resource issues that span multiple HR disciplines.
• Interprets and applies personnel/position management guidelines to daily HR operations, and in providing advice and assistance to the workforce.
• Analyzes data to identify trends and pattens, providing recommendations to improve HR strategies and processes, and monitor program effectiveness.
• Develops charts, graphs, or other visuals to display technical data clearly and effectively communicate finding and conclusions to senior leaders.
• Initiates, develops, and revises policy and procedures related to human resources or administrative issues.
• Identifies organizational knowledge gaps and provides training to supervisors and workforce on a variety of HR topics.

• Assist in conducting meetings, briefings, training sessions, or conferences to express quality assurance issues or concepts in a clear, concise and convincing manner.
• Convey quality assurance information using a variety of written formats and techniques to audiences with a varying level of knowledge on the subject.
• Assist in identifying for corrective action deficiencies caused by improper storage methods, extended periods of storage, or inherent deterioration characteristics of the material.
• Assist in reading, interpreting and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, and/or technical manuals.
• Assist in identifying inadequacies and recommending corrective action.
• Assist in verifying that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.
• Assist in verifying product quality using sampling inspection or, when appropriate to the characteristics involved or pertinent quality history, more intensive product inspection techniques.

• Documents patient data, plan, interventions and outcomes according to department guidelines.

Qualifications

• Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent nursing or a healthcare related field required. (all departments except Spectrum Health Ludington) BSN must be obtained within 7 years for those who start in this RN role on or after January 1, 2017 (Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital)
• 2 years of relevant experience clinical nursing and or case management/managed care or related field Required
• 5 years of relevant experience clinical nursing and or case management/managed care or related field Preferred
• Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Ambulatory Care Management Upon Hire required Or
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Ambulatory Care Management Upon Hire required
• Case Manager, Certified (CCM) - CCMC Commission for Case Manager Certification Upon Hire preferred

About this unit  

The Corewell Health Butterworth OR department is a level 1 trauma center. The department consists of twenty-one (21) operating rooms that operate 24/7 including supporting other surgical services departments related to IMRI and pediatric areas.  The surgical team covers multiple specialties with a focus on trauma, orthopedic trauma, acute care surgery and neurological trauma. Our interdisciplinary team of anesthesia providers, physicians, nurses, surgical technicians, and support technicians offer a high level of expertise and patient care. We also support a high level of technology including the DaVinci, Rosa, and Stealth robotic equipment. The environment offers a strong team atmosphere with comprehensive technology for safe and efficient patient care.

The Surgical Technologist maintains responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, making appropriate responses as needed. Is responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and principles related to those procedures. May serve as a Preceptor.
