As an HR Assistant (Military), GS-0203-07, you will serve as a final reviewer of actions, which may include but are not limited to: accessions, promotions, transfers, boards, promotion eligibility; retirement eligibility; and actions that affect eligibility of educational or incentive benefits as well as sensitive, complex cases, which involve: allegations of inequitable, prejudiced, or similar treatment (e.g. issues of fraudulent enlistment or assignment; removal of military member from active or inactive status). Cases have major effects on career or service as they may result in unfavorable career separation or loss of status. Perform final review on file prior to review and action by a board, action officer, or others and ensure that all levels of legal, medical, and administrative review have been completed. Summarize salient facts and issues; analyze case information; outline options; and recommend appropriate action. Ensure that regulatory requirements related to the specific action are met. Identify gaps or inconsistencies in the record and initiates action or interviews personnel to obtain needed data.

1. Applies an extensive body of human resources (HR) rules, procedures, and operations sufficient to provide unit personnel support services.
2. Uses guidelines that have gaps in specificity and are not applicable to all work situations to manage, prepare, and maintain documentation concerning reservists' participation.
3. Assists in planning and monitoring manpower resource requirements and ensuring systems are synchronized.
4. Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the force support flight/squadron on military and civilian personnel issues.

• Reviews and edits performance evaluations and fitness reports.
• Creates and maintains a fitness report database.
• Provides advice on workflow including routine correspondence, as well as control and operation procedures to increase efficiency.
• Serves as the command expert on administration and policies and procedures.
• Makes an extensive review and analysis of all correspondence to include evaluations and fitness reports.

The Nurse Recruiter provides leadership in delivering and improving the processes of recruitment, onboarding, and retention of the nursing workforce. The Nurse Recruiter uses their leadership and expertise of nursing practice, clinical knowledge, and data to assess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate recruitment and retention efforts of nursing staff.

The Nurse Recruiter provides advance understanding in the effort to identify highly qualified talent for their facilities. Ensures candidates align with the mission of caring for Veterans.

The Duties and Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

• Leads and organizes the provision of complex recruitment and retention needs utilizing the nursing process in alignment with recruitment and retention standards of practice at the program/service level or beyond.
• Applies clinical knowledge/judgment to lead in planning, decision-making, and evaluating data outcomes beyond the immediate practice setting.
• Applies nursing recruitment and retention expertise to lead improvement, with demonstrated outcomes within facility, VISN and national settings.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to implement nurse recruitment and retention plans.
• Utilizes expert knowledge of qualification standards and clinical experience to align nursing workforce candidates with appropriate positions.
• Serves as a liaison by using expert clinical knowledge to facilitate candidate experience and engagement throughout the onboarding process.
• Organizes assigned resources and identifies creative strategies to increase efficiency within recruitment and retention.
• Leads stakeholders in identifying and securing appropriate and available resources to address recruitment and retention needs.
• Enhances knowledge base and practice evaluation, at the expert level, with improved outcomes at the program or the facility level.
• Utilizes expert clinical knowledge in nursing recruitment and retention to lead education initiatives to improve outcomes at and/or beyond the facility.

• Performs the full range of tasks for assigned areas such as assignment, enlistment, reenlistment, promotion, awards, performance evaluation, routine boards, separation, or similar actions and performs a substantive review of records to determine eligibility for actions
• Serves as a technical authority on all elements of active duty military personnel specialties and reviews reports, forms, documentation, and other related information concerning Air Force members and reviews/constructs/maintains military personnel records on all assigned areas
• Serves as the primary source of information regarding a wide variety of entitlement, allowance, and indebtedness actions and processes actions through military personnel data systems
• Reviews products to identify and correct mismatched data in system and to ensure projections and confirmations have consummated and required actions have been taken in the Personnel Data System
• Uses a variety of office automation hardware, software, and peripherals to perform miscellaneous administrative duties, special actions and other clerical support work pertaining to assigned area of military personnel

1. Plans, directs, and controls all aspects of the Customer Support programs for both Active Guard Reserve (AGR) and unit reservists.
2. Administers actions in Automated Reserve Orders Writing System-Reserves (AROWS-R).
3. Serves as advisor to commanders on Human Resources (military) programs.
4. Provides Human Resources management (military) advisory services to commanders and staff on all Customer Support programs.
5. Ensures accuracy of Personnel Data System (PDS) and performs functional review of data reliability.
6. Prepares written correspondence and other documents. Performs postal/mail duties.

• You will explain personnel processes, requirements, or procedures to employees.
• You will correct data discrepancies in a human resources information system (e.g., Defense Civilian Personnel Data System [DCPDS] or similar system).
• You will use a database or spreadsheet software to revise personnel data.
• You will enter and maintain data in personnel records.

• You will provide guidance on the application of collective bargaining agreements, grievance processing and resolution under negotiated procedures, consultations and negotiations.
• You will research fact and legal precedents to define legal and factual parameters and issues of cases
• You will apply information of labor relations concepts, principles, and practices, including non-traditional collaborative approaches to labor relations.

• You will prepare disciplinary letters, grievance responses and serving as a technical adviser during third party cases.
• You will apply employee relations principles, practices, laws, and regulations, analyze problems/situations and recommending courses of action that meet organizational needs.
• You will coordinate, and manage programs which include performance management program, Disabled Veteran Leave, Family Medical Leave Act, Unemployment Compensation, CEAP, and other areas that impact work operations.

• Serves as the senior specialist, expert advisor, program manager and trainer for the employee benefits programs for the organization serviced.

This position is part of the Pathways Internship Program and is located at the Central Office, regional office or an institution in the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).

Primary responsibilities for an office may include labor management negotiations, disciplinary and grievance procedures, staffing (recruitment, requesting certificates of eligibles and interviewing), workforce projections, Equal Employment Opportunity statistics, the performance evaluation and incentive awards programs, Senior Executive Service program, time and attendance, leave administration and employee compensation.

Work assignments will provide the opportunity to learn the overall mission, functions and organization of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Increasingly difficult assignments will require the student to apply analytical skills, problem solving, coordination, written and oral communication skills.

• You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust priorities and prepare work completion schedules. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, consideration of assignment difficulty and requirements and the employee capabilities.

The HR Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week internship opportunity in the HR function. Your time here will look something like this.

The HR Summer Analyst program begins in June with a training program, providing Summer Analysts with an overview of Citi, a technology training session, and an introduction to Citi’s HR organization.  The Summer Program will provide Summer Analysts with Senior and Junior Mentors, networking opportunities and Senior Speaker Events where Citi’s senior HR leaders host discussions and answer questions about their careers and the HR functions.

The Summer Analysts will receive real-world work, and will be expected to add value to their teams during the 10 weeks.  In addition to their daily work, the Summer Analysts will also have the opportunity to network with other Citi interns, current program participants and alumni, and other HR professionals.  The program concludes with the Summer Analysts presenting their accomplishments and lessons learned to the Senior HR Management team.
