Health and Safety Advisor | Plymouth | Inside IR35 - Umbrella | 9-month expected duration | Reasonable accommodation costs covered
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading civil engineering company that is experiencing significant growth. We are looking for a highly skilled Health & Safety Advisor to uphold and improve our health and safety standards at an MOD site in Plymouth. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment for our employees and visitors by implementing best practises and procedures. This is a 9-month contract, with a possibility of becoming a full-time salaried position.
Day Rate: Dependent on experience
Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular safety inspections and investigations of incidents, dangerous occurrences, health issues, and near misses. Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
• Provide advice and support to on-site and office-based staff on all aspects of our Company’s health and safety, environmental, and energy systems and procedures.
• Source, plan, and deliver training to employees, ensuring it meets recognised standards.
• Assess the competence of subcontractors.
• Contribute to the development of operating procedures and other aspects of our Safety, Health, Environmental, and Energy Management Systems.
• Conduct risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and write method statements, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
• Relevant experience in health and safety.
• Preferably experience in a health and safety role within the civil engineering/infrastructure sector.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database management.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
