The core duty of this position is to conduct histopathological examinations of tissues and provide interpretation and diagnostic advice that is tailored to the British livestock production context. Other duties include providing advice and contributing to the generation of surveillance data and intelligence, contributing to research projects on diseases of British livestock and wildlife species and disseminating knowledge through publications and presentations.

Responsibilities will include:

Conducting gross, sub-gross and microscopic examination of fixed specimens from production animals (mainly ruminants and pigs).
Producing relevant reports and advising on pathology findings using your knowledge of the British cattle, sheep and pig industry.
Providing scientific and diagnostic advice to other science departments and colleagues working in the wider animal health network
Collaborating with scientists from APHA, other governmental bodies, scientific institutes and academia, across the UK and abroad, on projects relevant to the British livestock industry and government.
Communicating quality, evidence-based advice and scientific data through written reports, presentations, and scientific publications representing APHA at national and international level.
Conducting gross examinations on a wide range of species in containment level-3 facilities.
Maintaining veterinary and scientific expertise through Continuing Professional Development, whilst also supporting the development of your colleagues.
Working to various Quality and Health and Safety standards, including ISO9001, ISO17025, Good Laboratory Practice, Animal Scientific Procedures Act (ASPA), Specified Animal Pathogens Order (SAPO), Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP) guidance.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Experience in large scale assembly environments and building of special purpose equipment
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings
• To receive technical instructions and information (verbal, written and drawings)
• Erect metalwork products according to specification and timescale, using hand and powered tools. The use of access equipment will be a requirement
• To complete records and documentation
• To keep working environment clean and minimise waste of materials and resources
• To work safely and efficiently
• Must hold CSCS card & full UK driving licence
• External away working will be required
• Other duties as required by the business needs

Candidate Requirements:

• 3 years minimum experience gained in a similar industry
• MMA, MIG and TIG welding
• Slinger signaller certs for crane lifting operations - advantageous
• Telescopic forklift certs - advantageous
• IPAF / MEWP certs - advantageous
• Must be physically fit

Role Summary

The role is responsible for delivering and managing cloud security and endpoint security services, assessing policies and rules, safeguarding SaaS applications, data and endpoints. You’ll collaborate with colleagues supporting network and architecture assessment, threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and security operations. This position supports the Enterprise Security Transformation practice and is focused on engineering secure methods of utilizing cloud infrastructure services and software to improve the overall security posture. Cloud security engineers may instruct other teams on proper coding methods. They may also investigate, create, and recommend innovative technologies or other methods that will enhance the security of cloud-based environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Protects system by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
• Safeguards information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
• Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities; reporting violations.
• Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.
• Consolidate root cause analysis of past pentest results.
• Upgrades system by implementing and maintaining security controls.
• Require periodic after-hours/weekend support.
• Any other duties assigned by the Team Lead/Solution Architect.

Job Requirements

• 3 years experience in AWS Cloud Security, Security Hub, Guard Duty, Inspector, etc.
• Strong understanding of SSDLC and security frameworks.
• Knowledge in OWASP Security Standards.
• In-depth knowledge of architecture, engineering, and operations of at least one enterprise IDS/IPS/SIEM platform.
• Hands on experience with vulnerability scanning and pentesting tools.
• Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g. Netflow, FPC), and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations.
• Experience with identity and access management architectures and solutions including AD, RBAC, SSO, identity lifecycle management.
• Experience in IAM, secrets management, encryption technologies, SaaS services hardening, Kubernetes and container security
• Experience with Linux administration, shell scripting, and open-source security tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices in hardening and protecting cloud environments, networks, servers, endpoints, applications, and databases.
• Certifications in OSCP / CISSP / SANS / Other relevant security certifications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, team player and independent worker.
