Your new role

They are currently growing their team and now looking for a Financial Controller. This role will also be responsible for future junior hires within the finance function as the company expands. The role liaises closely with the production and sales teams, whilst owning control processes and commercial analysis. This role is granted full financial scope in a close relationship with the Head of Finance, CFO and charismatic MD who is driving the business to embark on further development avenues.
Key duties:

• Manage the Finance Team of 3
• Monthly Management Accounts preparation, statutory accounts and audit completion.
• Responsible for the Annual Budgets, ensuring variances to budget are reviewed and actioned
• Management of cash and working capital across the business through accurate and timely cashflow reporting
• Working closely with the Sales and Supply team to ensure appropriate reporting and controls are in place
• System and process improvement

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate would be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with industry experience, ideally in the food/drinks/FMCG industry. Will also consider experience within Manufacturing / Wholesale / Pharmaceuticals. Exposure to stock & shelf-life consideration is a large advantage for this role. Your new role

There will be plenty of support from the wider team but the expectation is you will act as a technical expert/lead and have significant input into the technical details.

What you'll need to succeed
Aside from the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team, you should ideally have:

• An MSc / PhD (or equivalent experience) in maths, biology, bioinformatics, physics, statistics, data science or a related subject.
  Candidates without a higher degree but with a strong background in the utilisation/application of AI within the biotech/pharma industry are also encouraged to apply.
• Hands-on expertise of designing, managing and delivering computational projects within a biotech / pharma / drug discovery setting
• The ability to analyse large scale biological (preferably genetic/genomic) data sets
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or R, C++, Java or similar, eg for developing tools, packages, models, algorithms or similar, coupled with a knowledge of good software development practices, eg version control, DevOps, etc
• Experience of working closely with cross-disciplinary teams to understand requirements and translate these into workflows / tools
• A track record of applying Machine Learning or Deep learning approaches to problems, with a good understanding of NLP / Large Language Models and libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, etc
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• A real interest in solving technical problems

For more senior candidates, a track record of leadership - either from direct line management or matrix management - of teams is required.

£28k-£40k per annum (DOE) OTE £60K-£80K first year, set to increase after one year of billing

Daniel Owen is looking for an experienced recruitment consultant who understands the permanent recruitment process to join our office based in London.

Due to significant growth across a wide range of sectors, there is an exciting opportunity to join the team in our office based in London, specialising in permanent recruitment. We have a number of desks that currently have live vacancies for permanent roles, and it appears as we continue to expand, our extra growth will be coming from permanent placements.

We are looking for recruitment consultants who will be able to pick up a warm desk, grow and maintain it, with the aspiration to progress onto a managerial role in the future.

Duties of a Recruitment Consultant include but are not limited to:

• Identify and develop existing client relationships, not only over the phone but face to face
• Sourcing skilled individuals that have the correct qualifications and experience
• Managing the full 360 recruitment process from interview through to offer stage
• Providing a top tier service to ensure repeat business and recommendations

The ideal Recruitment Consultant:

• Proven perm recruitment or sales professional (any sector experience)
• Will have the ability to motivate and inspire others and have the ambition to progress into a managerial role
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to make decisions and use their own initiative

Daniel Owen is looking for a trainee recruitment consultant to join the team in our office based in London. Experience is preferred but not essential for this role.

Daniel Owen have now entered our new financial year and our exciting strategy for this year is to grow our team in our office based in London. With the support of an experience team of professionals, this role will see you coming into a warm desk with live vacancies and see you have the luxury of being introduced to the client base from day one, along with taking over relationships with our PSL clients.
