Your new role

Your new role will be as a senior site engineer on a £36m housing project. You will be responsible with all aspects of engineering duties including setting out, managerial responsibilities, quality control, supervising subcontractors, HSEQ, progress reporting, measuring / ordering materials, managing labour and reporting to the Contracts Manager.

As you are taking a senior role within the project you will be expected to monitor and supervise work and ensure proper practice is taking place. You will be essential in the successful completion of this project, and you will work alongside the site manager to achieve project success.


What you'll need to succeed

Previous site engineering experience and a qualification in a construction related field will be essential for this role. Experience within the build sector and previous civil projects will be highly desirable.
Technical knowledge of setting out duties as well as interpreting architectural drawings and then practically applying these drawings to the day-to-day operations on site will be required. Attention to detail will help you to ensure the project is completed to an excellent standard. Proficient time management and organisational skills will help you day to day. You must have a valid CSCS / SMSTS card in order to be considered.

You must have good technical knowledge and skills in the construction sector and a good knowledge of commonly used contracts and frameworks. Ideally, you will hold a formal qualification in quantity surveying at degree level. However, candidates will be considered with HND/ HNC qualifications and relevant experience.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

• A degree/HND or equivalent in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or other construction related subject or substantial previous experience in a similar position
• A commercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of performance
• A proactive person with a disposition to take action pre-emptively to manage risk and opportunity
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Results driven with the capability of working on their own initiative
• Ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently
• High attention to detail

Your new role
Your new role will be working as Housing Support Worker. You will have your own caseload of customers with complex needs such as homelessness, substance misuse, a history of offending etc and managing their support plans with them to promote and sustain tenancies. You will be signposting them to relevant services and agencies and supporting them on their journey to independent living.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for the role you must have proven experience in a similar position working with a similar customer group. As this is a Floating Support Role you must have a clear driving license.
