Owen Payne Recruitment are recruiting for an Area Sales Manager based in the Gloucester or Newport area for a leading distributor of high-quality plumbing products, dedicated to serving the needs of plumbers merchants across the UK.
We are seeking a motivated Area Sales Manager to join our team and cover the SA, CF, LD, NP, HR, BS, and GL postcodes. This is a fully field-based role, requiring a proactive individual who thrives on building strong relationships and driving sales growth within their designated territory.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sales Growth: Drive sales and profitability by managing and expanding the customer base within the designated area. Achieve sales targets and KPIs set by the company.
• Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with plumbers merchants, ensuring excellent customer service and support. Regularly visit existing and potential clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitor activities. Use this information to inform sales strategies and identify potential growth areas.
• Product Promotion: Actively promote the company’s range of products, providing detailed product knowledge and technical support to customers. Organize and conduct product demonstrations and training sessions as needed.
• Reporting and Planning: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market intelligence. Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, customer service, and logistics, to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
• Sales experience is preferred but not essential
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new products and technologies.
• Attributes: Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a large territory effectively.
• Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned postcodes.
