Strategic Business Unit Description
The People, Culture and Brand group encompasses Human Resources (“HR”), Communications, Marketing, Brand, Workplace Transformation and Real Estate. These groups enable CIBC’s core purpose: to help make our clients’ ambitions a reality by ensuring long-term sustainability of CIBC’s human assets through strategies, policies, and systems focused on employee environment, performance management, recruitment and development, and health and wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing
Our Talent Acquisition team delivers best-in-class experiences to enable CIBC to attract top talent. As a Talent Acquisition Partner, you’ll proactively source, identify and assess external talent, hiring strong talent and leaders who can help us deliver an exceptional client and employee experience. You will primarily support CIBC’s US Capital Markets businesses by developing strategic talent attraction strategy, sourcing plans, and actively recruiting high quality candidates who can effectively support business plans and goals.
Successful team member will build a pipeline of candidates, establish connections and networks to prospect talent both online and other. Coordinate the full life cycle of recruitment.
Work with ED, US Talent Acquisition and HRBPs to manage, negotiate, provide oversight, and administration support throughout the recruitment and onboarding process. Educate, consult and transfer knowledge of global staffing processes/policies to the US HR team and/or US hiring managers.
How You’ll Succeed
Develop & implement strategic sourcing plans, utilizing social media, applicant tracking systems (Workday), strategic events, traditional marketing and campaigns. Identify strategies and sourcing channels to build a pipeline of diverse and qualified candidates for this line of business.
Establish connections, maintain and leverage a professional online and social media presence, and prospect talent through your network.
Research and design talent market maps to support business requirements.
Coordinate full life cycle of U.S. recruitment (end-to-end); for a variety of positions and at all levels; in addition to other ad-hoc resourcing projects and initiatives for the U.S. region.
Keep up to date on labor market trends and competitor information, providing business partners with insights and recommendations that will improve the quality of external hires. Build deep subject matter expertise in your portfolio to better forecast and influence hiring plans and decisions.
Partner with HR Business Partners to effectively manage, negotiate, and provide oversight throughout the entire recruitment process for new hires.
Act as a subject matter expert for U.S. recruiting metrics; manage and maintain candidate/applicant tracking databases, posting requirements; any on-line technology requirements; new hire tracking; etc.
Direct and partner with administrative support throughout the interview and approval processes; prepare and review offer letters (global hiring practices are adopted where applicable).
Liaise with internal HR immigration team where necessary.
Coordinate onboarding activities.
Who You Are
Minimum 5 years’ recruitment/sourcing experience (lateral experience required) in a high volume, fast paced corporate environment within the financial industry
Outstanding client service orientation and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of management in a complex reporting matrix environment
Strong interviewing and assessment skills
Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter
Experience with Peoplesoft and other HR systems – Workday, an asset
Must be a self-starter, strong team player; and possess strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to partner with peers, management and key stakeholders and strong attention to detail
Ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks from a variety of sources
Ability to simultaneously manage tight timelines on various tasks of equal importance
Excellent computer skills; must be able to manipulate spreadsheet data and have intermediate level skills (at an absolute minimum) on PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Creative insight to support the delivery of practical HR solutions to meet business challenges
Capability to adapt and modify procedures in a changing environment to ensure productivity and efficiency
Bachelor’s degree required
Working Conditions
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $70,000-$85,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
